Just look at the amount of the Prelfop pot before any raises or limps and divide your chip stack by that, this works even when antes kick in as long as you are at a full table.

Just look at the amount of the Prelfop pot before any raises or limps and divide your chip stack by that, this works even when antes kick in as long as you are at a full table.

This, then round your stack and the pot before bets to the nearest hundred and remove the zeros. Then, you're only doing 2-3 digit division.

Example: 9 person 100/200 25 ante = 100+200+25*9 = 525
So the pot should show 525 before bets. Let's say your stack is 2560. Round these to 500 and 2500. Then M is simply 2500/500.

Hope this is semi usable.

If its too complicated just use BB/stack size. Divide your stack size by the BB and when you are around 10 is when you wanna get into push/fold mode. Also, like Wurly said, this should just be an estimation, knowing that you have an M of 4.1215 rather than ~4 is useless.
