I was a member of bluefire poker several years back and still have an account there. A lot of people are skeptical of training sites but I really feel like that site helped my game a lot. I see that Phil started another site in runitonce. Does anyone have a preference between the two? Also, are there any other sites that people prefer? Thanks.

Recently, I started going to the online live training sessions at pokerstars. Initially I didn't think that I'd get that much out of them but they're great. I attend as many of these as I can whether it's on a subject that involves me or not. Sometimes it's not the training that sparks off a new way of looking at my game it may be the comments by the other people in the session. On top of that you get to see the thought process of the tutor and there is a huge amount of archived videos on the site covering just about everything. What's more... the only cost of this is a PokerStars account, a pokerschool online account. and sometimes a certain amount of points have to have been earned before you can watch some content. In my opinion... a bargain.

Look for a training site that has a solid amount of reasonably recent content that's appropriate for the type(s) of game and the level you play. It's not about which site is better for other people. The idea is to find one that's a really good fit for the player you are now.

What games do you play?

For sng or tournaments I highly recommend pokerclerk.com

Its not a big name site with big name players but I guarantee it will help you.

For training - FullTilt. Lot of daily freerols tournaments, where you could easy get little experience for play on real money.

the truth is I do not know of any place where one can learn to play poker collectively (I mean to lecture online poker). In fact here in the community of Cardschat you can get help from other members asking questions you have a game or hand, you can make a post stating you want to have someone help you.

I have been looking for a proper training as of late, and have been striking out so far. All of the ones I find seem to be either WAY too expensive, or simply do not seem to have enough information found on them.

I was recommended to look into runitonce. Does anyone have any feedback on them ?

Deucescracked is a good value for low-level online games. For higher level online games, RunItOnce is really good. CrushLivePoker is very good for live poker.

The truth is that most people should try out multiple training sites to figure out what works best for them. Most training sites have free trials nowadays, so you can sample their content to see which one will be best for you before you commit to investing any money into your poker training.

Coaching tends to be fairly expensive, but it can pay off huge dividends if you get the right coach/mentor. Just like anything else, you have to do your due diligence before investing in a poker coach.

I think for a decent couching session you could be paying anywhere from ~$150 to $300 an hour. I'd suggest that MANY people need a good couching session (way more than they'd like to admit).

Poker coaching prices have a much larger range.
I don't know how anyone could possibly suggest that a coach wouldn't have an influence on changing one's game.

This seems so simple but it's really great advice, Arjonius. Nothing else in life is one-size-fits-all so it shouldn't have been a eureka moment to read this, but it was. Thank you!
