hey everyone,

i'm playing cardschat freerolls for sometime and i believe i played approx. 15 tournaments and got into the pool twice or three times i guess. still, i really got unlucky many times with the better hand but that's not the point. i believe that percentage should be better and i would like to get some insight into it. playing tight and doubling up around 3000 chips gets you somewhere but just to get into the money. however, can someone recommend a better strategy? any opinion is welcome. thanks,

I also play tight but you must watch your opponents in late stage of the freeroll cuz there could be some players who bluff to get many chips before the bubble
Tight/aggressive is the best strategy for me, when you have good cards and a good flop comes dnt be afraid to raise more

I am need recommendation also for this CC freeroll, how to reach FT :D,
Totally, i was played 2 times CC freeroll for member (15+post), and made 2 times ITM.
Here my result for last two CC freeroll :
First, 24/189
Second, 26/218

I have no idea how to play in the late stage, i'm so confused to open bet from all positions at table. :/

I'd look at the various posts/articles & other kinds of interesting things CC has to offer and FIGURE IT OUT... I'd be surprised if veteran members (would be stupid enough or...) would give you clues/insight on how to be beat them at freerolls on their own card forum...lol... no EASY answers HERE... If I WERE to give advice I would read "Poker Tournament Formulas 1 & 2 by Arnold Snyder and Crushing The Microstakes by Black Rain" their styles are very "unorthodox" compared to the traditional "ho-hum" Slansky/Malmuth styles (which EVERYBODY knows already)...

No offense meant to anyone... JMHO...

That is the thing with poker, you can win with a Q3 and lose with AA (sometimes). Just having fun I guess. Very few things that are free in this life.

From those i played, i learned that you have to arm yourself with alot of patiance and give your best. Thats good for all tournaments not even here.
As some member here replyed its good to know what are the different phases of the tourney, cause when you get further you have to change strategies depending on your stack and the others around you. For this reason is good to watch some late game tournaments and try to figure what the others are trying to reach with their acts.
Thats my opinion, i think im in the right direction to get to the winning places. Also i will need more to do it, so ill follow this thread for replyes.

Well unlike other freerolls the play is more controlled and not many loose all ins at the early stages for the sake of stack building like many other freerolls.

Every tournament should be played how you like to play it. Yea, it might have a different title, but you cannot go out and think that one tourney is different than another.
Read up on some strategy books and try to play like it tells you to is my best strategy for this tournament and any other tournament alike.

I have yet to play in one but just from seeing the registration numbers, the fact there is $100 and not $10 and the fact you have to work to get an invite to one.......id imagine people are playing a lot more seriously.

Way way fewer opponents, for more money, and took at least some work to get invited. Again im not there yet so cant say for sure but I would have to imagine the play is a bit tighter and taken a bit more seriously.

so far my experience says the same!!! as long as considering the blinds increase every 10 mins and highly gradually. so just keeping it tight helps a lot as i also didn't witness that many 3-bets or so which would test someone

You say that you are unlucky with the better hand. That is impossible. When the river complets the cards the better hand beats a worse hand. What you probably mean is that you have a better hand before all cards are on the board.
And when you loose on the river you think that's a bad beat. Well, i think it's a bad bet. You bet to much into the pot, not having the nuts. That is were you go wrong. You are to happy with a good starting hand, but it aint over untill the river has fallen. Too many people go all in with only a draw. And off top off that they call themselves unlucky instead of stupid when they do not hit the river.

That's not always the case. I see people shoving all-in pre on level 1 of these freerolls, or shoving on a limped flop.

I like very much not to like when transplanted to another table !!! It is already furious because I also learned as a player who plays a loser who is who and who plays Tight agresivno and when you are transplanted to another table then all you need to start all over again : ( (

You need to play like a normal tournament. Plus the fact that you have a lot of information. And it must actively used.

Play as many as you can. You can then start to adapt a strategy for them tailored towards your game.

There is no winning strategy for CC freerolls. There are too many loose cannons who play any two and call all-ins with garbage. there is more luck than strategy in these tourneys. Just try to play whatever strategy you feel comfortable with, and under no circumstances should you gauge your success on results. That is the path to disaster.
