Hi! Just wondering what you all advise as best non hold em games for an American player with access to Carbon, Bovada, and ACR. ( Play most on carbon and bovada.

I realize there are many choices, but am primarily an Omaha player, and wonder what you all recommend as the best use of my time. so far I have seen $5 and $11 Plo8 sngs. Are these soft? Also, are plo rings worth devoting my time to exclusively? Ty for any and all thoughts!!!

Well omaha is much harder than hold'em and there biggest role play's luck, so i don't think, that these tournaments could be soft..

why is omaha harder than holdem? i actually think holdem is far more difficult than omaha for two main reasons.

1. it's easy for people to have nut hands in omaha, making laydowns easier.

2. the player pool is generally tougher in holdem, and not so tough in omaha.

Don't know about you, but I love Razz. It is just so fun to me, don't know why. If I had to list my top 2 games of poker, it would be 1. NLHE 2. Razz.

I agree that the general level of skill in omaha is way lower than in NL, but as for Omaha being easier cos " It is easier for players to have the nut hand in omaha making laydowns easier?
Well, you must be playing a different omaha than i do. In Holdem by the turn 90% of the time you have a good idea if you are ahead or not, in omaha you can be a massive favourite but the river changes everything I should think 50%+ of the time which is way more often than in Holdem.
I love playing Omaha but it is 1000% times harder than Holdem, well to me it is anyway, but it is way more exciting, but if you don't like wild varience don't play it :D

I have to agree with Colbefc regarding how fortunes can change in PLO. You might have a nut flush on the flop, but if the board pairs, you are looking at being stacked by a weaker player that does not have a Fold button. That means lots of full house suckouts. So you must be vigilant and REALLY have a good read on your villains.

I like PLO/8 as there are so many fishes playing what I call hold'em hands. Let me explain:
In PLO8 you should be looking A,2-4,T+,T+ down to A234 with at least the A suited. Your hand will vary but this an extreme over generalization. Most people playing PLO8 will play AK78, maybe even AA67ds thinking this a killer hand. They are only thinking about the high side of the pot. I love scooping or taking 3/4 of the pot. Again, fish will suckout but that is poker. If we did not have fish, some of you could not make a living :)
