I play a lot of rebuys where you have a lot of people in most of the pots and a lot of those people might well be playing ATC. I was interested to know which hands are considered to play particularly well in that scenario?

Would category 4 hands be suitable, such as:

Ace rag
77, 66, 55, 44, 33, 22
T9s, 98s, 87s, 76s, T8s, 97s, 86s?

I currently feel less happy about the ace rag in that situation than I do about the pairs and suited connectors.

Then if we have a category 1 hand, such as:

AA, KK, QQ, JJ, AK

are we happy for it to be multiway pre-flop or are we trying to isolate?

Those hands seem to be working quite well, so far, but obviously it's early days...

Still being quite cautious with ace rag and generally just shoving if I have JJ.

Particulary in rebuy tournaments, we have to take in mind that some players take more risks comparing with "normal tournaments". I think we just need to bet with big hands such as AA, KK, QQ, JJ, AK suited and AQ suited. Other hands have the risk to be beated, especially in the begining of the tournaments.

Thanks, guys. I should probably have mentioned that these rebuy tournaments are at the micro level, one that I have had a reasonable amount of success in is the 3 FTP satellite to the BLT, I also play various 11c ones.

I have tried the way that badalhoco345 suggested but the reality is that it hasn't worked very well for me. I will gradually build up a decent stack by playing premium hands only, then one coinflip that goes wrong and you are back to zero again. For example, I had shoved with AA and two or three people called, mainly people with significantly smaller stacks than me, but the guy with a stack around the same size as mine had AJ and happened to hit two jacks.

Obviously we need to build a decent stack by the end of the rebuy period if we want to end up in the money, so this sometimes leads to situations where we have to play more marginal hands.
