Hello! I'm looking for some good literature on loose/aggressive play.

Does anyone have any must-read suggestions? I'd really appreciate it.

The looser the better, actually. I'd be interested in some hyper-loose tips and strategies.

Thanks!

Holdem or Omaha?

I can't recall seeing any books regarding lag play holdem, but obviously to be a good/great lag player there are a number of fundamentals that are vary important with hand reading / ranging being one of them so know when your agression is going to work or not and as such recognizing when passivity to your agression could be a trap situation.

In omaha I know Jeff Hawg has a couple of books regarding lag play, but i neither have them in my collection or read them at this point but they are on my wish list at amazon for consideration possibilities if I ever get through the small library I have purchased in the past 6 months.

Are you a new player to the game, seasoned play that has grinded up the stakes and looking to switch to a more profitable lag style or just interested in studying it to combat the lags etc? Curious on these fronts obviously in your reasoning of interest in materials on lag style as its not something recommended for beginners or at micro stakes given their tendency to not fold hands etc etc I could probably ramble but will stop here.

Hold Em. Shoulda mentioned that!

I'd say I'm an intermediate player with around 250+ hours of Hold Em experience, but I've never played for real stakes.

My style is naturally pretty loose/aggressive, so I just wanted to expand upon my abilities.

Thanks for the response.

[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Small-Stakes-No-Limit-Holdem-Miller/dp/0984143491"]Small Stakes No-Limit Hold'em: Ed Miller, Matt Flynn, Sunny Mehta: 9780984143498: Amazon.com: Books[/ame]

Book focuses on playing LAG for sure, intended for 6max but can the concepts are going to hold true for FR if that's your thing.

I see this thread is a little old, but:

I think 250hours is maybe classed as a beginner? I guess if youre eight tabling and showing a decent BB/100 over those 250 hours then maybe not, but its still not a huge amount of experience, with no mention of prior study etc.

Secondly, LAG style to be profitable relies much more on your ability to read players and to sense danger, its the style of the best of the best. Its also a much higher variance if you arent in that top percentile, and even if you are, it still is! xD

Jonathan Little Secrets of Professional Tournament Poker, Volume 1 ( Is very well described LAG style , when you have deep stack )

Lee Nelson Kill Everyone: Advanced Strategies for No-limit Hold 'em Poker Tournaments and Sit-n-go's ( best book for push/fold )

Sit 'n Go Strategy: Collin Moshman

First, better read the last two books, then Jonathan Little...

books play loose aggressive several important thing is not reading but learning to drive and shape the style of play since it is more difficult to combine and take advantage, try to learn the most possible to be a winning player!

250 hours is not much at all really (all live or online too?)
and never playing for real stakes is a whole different game
I dont read poker books so Im no help there
but real curious why you'd want to jump in to real stakes with such a high variance style
I think learning tight ABC poker first would be more beneficial (and profitable)

I wouldnt mind reading something like this but more structured for MTT's than cash games or SNG's?

With MTTs its more about selected asggression, its hard to be that aggressive for 8 hours straight IMO, without being negreanu or similar..

Daniel Negreanu's small ball section of his book and Dan Harrington delves into it in his cash game books I don't remember so much if he mentions it in his tourney books

Having read the Harrington books, he plays relatively cautious in the tournaments, but condones probing and cbetting, which you might consider aggressive...

In addition to others mentioned; Super System is still relevant. Especially the part about NOT playing like that VS callers.

In the cash games books he's got a whole section on LAG play.
