Straight-up TAG works well on micro on ring games. People are so unattentive that you can even multi table without any poker software. Just make sure you don't play above your bank roll.

no, but their bonuses are kind of like rakeback.
He's not going to be able to get anywhere near the amount of VPPs needed to get a bonus at Stars with a 50 dollar BR unless he's playing way outside his roll. You need to be atleast silverstar which requires 1500 VPPs/month. Nearly impossible at any level lower than 25NL.

Yeah, I've tripled my $50 to $150 in 3 weeks and I only have 300 VPP.

I've built my BR up playing SNGs and small buy-in MTTs. If you can beat SNGs, I would suggest playing this majority of the time. You can be a more consistent winner with ring games, but if you're playing 2nl, its going to take a while to get your BR up.

What is your current BRM plan?

For SNGs, if you dont mind turbos, I would suggest the $1 + .10 45 seat SNGs. If you dont like turbos, then definitely play the $1 + .20, though the rake is a bit much @ 20%. For MTTs, play any $1 or less.

I play few sit n gos but dont always win..how often do you win the SNGs? and what are your stradegys to winning them? For every 5 games I play i seem to place in the money 2-3 times..

what was your bankroll wehn you started and what is it now? and how long have you been grinding? hehe sorry for all the questions just curious

Are you playing STT or MTT? 2/3 out of 5 bubbles is not good enough for STTs unless you always get first. Either way, if you really want to play them, start keeping track of every buy-in and what you place. I used to think very highly of my STT skills, but after a week's logs, I found that I was getting ITM only a little more than half the time, and for the time invested, was making a pittance compared to what I usually do in ring games. Log everything you do, everything you win/lose. Find out what your strong games are and stick to them. At least until your BR is more hefty.

I really like ring games. The income is relatively steady, although we're talking about poker here. :)

Whatever you do, no matter how good you think you are, start at the lowest stakes you can play until your log tells you that you have them beat, then it is okay to at least try (not stay at) higher stakes. BRM is key to success.

As far as how I tripled, I don't have anything to do this summer besides work, so I've been spending 1-5 hours a day playing poker. Whenever there was a day I would make a huge profit I would use some of it to play a MTT and I won one or two.

You know other sites do exist...
The man is on PokerStars. Thus I thought you might be talking about it, and not other sites that have nothing to do with him.

i would be playing single table sngs...usually when I play I always get down to about 4-5 people then it starts to get a little hard..as i pass i average probably 2-3 place..probably 1st place every 5 games or so..

what were ur sng stradegys?

i also play about 5 hours a day as well and still break even lol..what games are you currently playing and how do you play them? :)

I'm no good at SNG, so you don't want to hear about that. I've been playing ring games to grind myself up. Right now I'm playing above my bankroll at .05/.10, but I have come out positively almost every day for a ten days, so that's where I'm sitting currently. I play very very tight, just waiting for the premium hands. At these stakes there's usually at least one guy there who will call your preflop raise just trying to get lucky. If I have something like AK and it doesn't hit the flop, I almost never C-bet; check/fold is a standard play for me.

I started with a $50 BR, got it up to $60 (a lot of up and down swings). Then I had to use $35 to buy a new adapter for laptop. After starting all over again at $25, I've increased my BR to $93 in about 2 weeks time.

As for playing SNGs, if you're making the money 3/5 times and 1st 1/5 times, thats good. You should be profiting.

I dont have a lot of time right now, but later on I'll happily go over some simple SNG strategy with you and maybe help you find and plug any leaks in your game.
