When I started playing poker in 2013, I was fascinated by the game. I looked for material on hands, position, stacks, etc. I think most people took the same road as me.
It was very interesting when I lost a few hands that I thought I was in front. The skills that my opponent had were too! It seemed a kind of super power that could see which cards were in my hand. Was actually a set of information that I gave and said what cards I possessed. It made me more and more excited and eager to learn these techniques.
Well, I began to look deeper into the game watching videos and tutorials of people who were professional in poker. They lived poker. I found that the game they do was not the game I met and had fallen in love. Okay, it was profitable in the long run, but it was not exciting.
Many tables on the screen, waiting for a hand "shovavel" was the ultimate game. Rolled to a pre-flop actions depending on the value of the blind and the amount of chips he had. I tried to go that route. I thought I was playing correctly but did not succeed. I lost a good percentage of my bankroll. I started looking for a way that I found most attractive and profitable at the same time. And I found. "PATIENCE" is called.
Restarted from scratch! same initiation.
I followed the Intelipoker courses, did all (unless the Cash Game and Omaha), and I learned to be patient with something called odds and pot odds. Here was the secret I started to become profitable and to create my own style of play. It was as if a curtain opened and the game was a play in which I could understand and interact with the show.
I'm still at the beginning of my learning but with a north. Already dug some MTT's - 45 - R $ 0.25 and some freerolls where I acquired some tickets to other tournaments. My average position in the tournaments that I participate is 11%. Not ideal but considering that in most tournaments, the ITM is 15%, is a good start.
