It´s almost impossible to start playing MTTs with 5$ BR. You should play SNG, until you get 100BB to play MTTs . For example :

$0.55 -> You need 55$ BR.

For turbo Tournaments, add more 100BB, totalizing 200BB.

In my opinion, you can play Spins , but the variance is too hard to beat and you´ll need 200BB to start this idea and not break.

If you are trying to build up your bankroll reliably then you should try MTSnGs. These tournies have a lower amount of variance than spins, and they go down to very low stakes ($0.02 990 mans and $0.10 360 mans on pokerstars for instance). Of course you can also play freeroll MTTs such as the cards chat freeroll etc, or you can try to get a place in the pokerschool leagues if you are using Stars (tap on 'school' within the client). Don't try to move up to fast, and expect it to take a while to earn each dollar. When you get to $30 - $50 or so you can try some spins or micro MTTs. Good luck!!

0.55 * 9 games is 4.95. If he have 5$ hhecan play 9 mtts
Why its imposible? Due to bankroll management? With 5$ there are no br management because any game is higher than yr br. (Ex. 0.11c mtts :D)

Well I see three options.. First you can leave those $5 alone, and play some freerolls, and try to get some more $ for your BR. That seems like a wise way to go. Or, you can play $0.25 45 players STG and see how are those working out for you. Or or, you can sit at the cash game table with $1, and see if you can double that up. But that is risky, you can easily loose all those $5. So, I would suggest those STG's. Good luck buddy! ;)

It's not been very long ago that I had only $6 left on one of my sites. I done the same as you are now. It's always good to get some opinions before you pick what you think will give you the best chance to win way more than what you put in. I took the whole $6 and registered for a MTT I had never played before. It was one I could never get up the energy I would need to last 5 hours of late registeration and then 4 or 5 more hours before it's over. In short, I was able to cash in that MTT for $160 and the next day with a few of those dollars, I played in another MTT that I have played many times but never cashed in. I was able to cash in it for $86. So things do happen that maybe the last thing you would have thought of. GL to you. This post is not in anyway meant to influence you to try the same thing I did. The advice you are getting is good and should help you make up your mind what to play

Start playing sng like the 0.10 360 players or the 0.25 90 players on pokerstars . Also the steps programm on 888poker helps you earn 0.10$ or 1$ tickets really easy and fast to play them later on sngs , check it

IMHO - cash.
you can slowly build BR. 2,5,10...c SNG/MTT are a shove fest with 900 players and 3-5 min blinds, so best strategy is wait for JJ+ shove hope to get called by fish with 98s and then hope that your pair will hold-up.
if you are card dead for to long - you lost.
maybe I'm wrong but this is to much of a hustle

ideally tournaments 0,50$ on 45, 90 people (if there are an experience and patience). If it is urgent, then spin&go (on my experience, there was a case where I from $5 have flown up to $700 in 2 weeks)

problem with such a small bankroll is that tourny buy ins at this level mean a long session and a lot of player to troll through before there is a chance of any returns similar to freerolls long hours small returns but with freeroll there is no risk spin and go if you get a lucky roll will advance quicker
