I know, I am late to the party, but I just want to say thank you to Collin Moshman, Katie Dozier and Cardschat for creating this amazing course. It is with a distance the best free poker related content, I have ever seen on the internet, and obviously many many hours have been put into creating it.

Maybe for some it is a little to much to digest, but for anyone taking the time to watch the several hours of video, they are a literal goldmine, because Collin and Katie take us through a large number of hand examples and explain their thought process in each and every one.

That's great to hear Fundiver!

We both really appreciate the contributions you make to strategy discussions on CardsChat so this means a lot to us. Thanks so much for posting this awesome review of the course.

Even as a long term poker player I loved it! It served as a great refresher for me and I picked up a few new tips.

Same for me. I especially picked up some tournament specific tips, since Katie and Collin are both tournament specialists, while I have still spend most of my poker time in cash games. For people, who never really played cash games, the course will on the other hand give them a lot of tips about postflop play, which is a weak point for many tournament players.

I also like the approach of Katie and Collin, which is mostly the traditional or exploitative one. There is a brief mention of GTO in one of the sessions, but mostly its all about finding good spots to value bet, bluff, bluff catch, pot control etc. rather than trying to be perfectly balanced. Which is in my opinion a vastly superior approach for online micro and low stakes games, since these are still full of recreational players and bad regs.

I'm gonna have to put some time aside to go through this course myself.

I read Collin's first SnG book ~9mos. after it came out. (in early 2008). I read it cover-to-cover a few times & it took me from being an ROI -10% losing player to being a winning player! :)

The only complaints I have about this course (even prior to checking it out) is that it is FREE & it is going to help some players to become better at poker :(
It seems somewhat counter-intuitive.

Even though I don't want other players to get better at the game I often find myself helping others & I enjoy coaching micro stakes. What is up with that? (time to re-assess... right after I do this course)

Yes, I highly recommend the course - especially to beginner/intermediate level players. That was exactly where I was at in poker when I took the course and I really learned a lot from it. Big thanks to Collin, Katie and CardsChat for making resources like this available for those willing to put in the effort to improving their game. :)

I read one of Collin's earlier poker books I bought too. By the way, I know what you mean by helping others improve and sounding counter-intuitive. I am the same way with poker, chess, golf and other things: I help others a lot, but sometimes it sounds counter-intuitive if you might play against them later.

However, here is how I look at it: in today's era of learning - access to content is not the problem. Poker is a good example of this. If someone wants to improve their own poker game, they will. There are online videos, courses, books, tracking software, freerolls and many others sources to potentially improve. EVERYONE has access to all of these things. Is this ruining the career for the pro poker players though? No, it isn't; an argument might even be it helps them by supplying competition. The key to improvement (with poker as well as other things in life) is often the amount of work and study you are willing to put in. Even if you help lots of new players (as much as you might want them to improve their own game), only they themselves can put the time in. Information is useless (even if accessible) if it isn't utilized.

The pro players remain at the top because they keep up with the adapting strategies and concepts. I'd keep helping others and learning yourself - besides, sometimes I teach myself through teaching others too :)

So glad that you enjoyed the course too, Phoenix! I totally agree with your paragraph about having access to information. I believe that anyone can get better at anything if they want it enough but it’s always going to require work on their part too :)

Thanks again!

I have just finished translating the last part and reading the entire book. This is great! If someone asks me how to learn poker, I will recommend this book to them. The authors put their heart and soul into their project. We live in a time when we have to pay even for air. Therefore, all forum readers should be grateful to Colin Moshman and Katie Dozier for their great work and selfless desire to help other players become better.

Hi! Everyone praises this course very much. I would also very much like to study it. But unfortunately, my English level is still weak. Does anyone know if this course is available in Russian?

I have not yet had the chance to go through this course, it sounds like it is getting "rave" reviews. No matter what material i use to study poker, I feel like it always fires something in my brain to make me think of something in a slightly different way. To me, this is how I have always learned, by searching out as much material as possible. I might find some more helpful than others but I can always pick up something.:driver:

Thanks everyone!

Olesy, the course is only available in English for now. I hope in the future there is a Russian translation available :)
