Aloha, right guys, im clearly not the brightest person in the world, or i wouldnt be asking all these stupid questions all the time, but i have issues with note taking and help on this issue would be brilliant.....

what are the basic terms used for when labelling.....i,e green, red, etc.....

do i put, nit, donkey, fish, tag, lag, loose passive, tight passive?.....are there any other terms that i need to know?........also what types of notes should i be using?....are they relevent if i have a hud that does all the work for me (to an extent)....just a heads up on some basics would be good as im pissing against the wind here trying to figure all this stuff out.......cheers guys

One very important thing that I didn't know until someone told me was that if a hand goes to showdown, you can see their cards in the hand replayer even if they mucked them. Might be obvious but I had to be told.

What site(s) do you know of that do this? There is a small discussion I just seen about hand history at https://www.cardschat.com/forum/poker-rooms-10/bovada-right-ridiculous-213842/
This also talks about some differences of how hand histories are issued by poker sites. Wondering if any of these are US sites.

Notes are done in a number of ways. I use the colors to recognize general stuff, like red=reg, green= real bad player, blue= <2 tables and seems to be a beginner, orange >10 tables and so on. The Jennifear link is good, and you can start there, but do colors according to what is important to you.

But then the notes come in, like if a bad (green) player is a calling station, I note that, if he is a maniac and raises/3 bets with ATC, note, if a reg is also a flop floater and folds to a second barrel, note and so on. Use a short hand THAT YOU UNDERSTAND. Caps cause I - and others - have done quick spur of the moment shorthand that I dont understand later.

I found this good advice.

It's not all the hole cards, just the hole cards of hands mucked at showdown. I use 888, pokerstars and Sky. All immediately available in the "view previous hand" option.

If a player flashes his cards after a fold however you can't see them in the replayer.

easiest to start out with the traffic light, green for bad players red for good players, when taking a note about a tendency its important to structure it, eg its no use putting calls too loose, or donkey cause that doesnt tell us anything.
something like "will set mine when too shallow v lp raise"
or "doesnt 3bet QQ v UTG open 130bb deep. minraised dry board."
is more useful because it tells us which stack depth or situation the note applies to and when to adjust for it and when to ignore it

I also dont bother noting anything that cant be seen easily from his hud stacks, like i dont need to note that a 66/2 only raises nuts, its fairly obvious, so i just tag him as a fish and move on

You don't ever see this backfire. I mean I will change my play often, sometimes not as often. Also, I will do things to make someone think my style is 'fishy' even if I am truly fishy.
Like the other day, I won a double up pot in a micro stakes short handed game. The other guy moments later says to me "do you know what (think he said hdd but not sure on the abbr.) says about you?"
I replied no, what?
He said it says I am a green fish, lol
I said well, why did I just double up twice in two minutes with exceptional hands. Think I was bluffing or what?
So I wonder about this and all things that these programs may say.
When playing this style of game, I purposely play and raise even with a 2 9 unsuited. Not often, sometimes often.
Very cool, one of the double ups I said to self if I get 2 9 here, it's a winner. What do you know I get a 2 9
End up getting I think two pair or a full house, don't recall. But I did double up.
Have seizures sometimes and that day I was sick a bit, I notice I can have these weird auras sometimes and just go with what is not typical but ends up working.
Reallly strange.

lol Good. I like for him to base his decisions with or without this software. The more I can get a person to have judgement of my play the better off I am.
I purposely want people to have an opinion of my play.
And thanks for the reply, instead of some advice you just trash it out there.

LOL, I wish this was true.... I take way too few notes and miss too many spots where they need to be taken. I know some spots I need to improve on, so I at least have that.

raising 29o because you have a feeling is bad, if in terms of gameflow you think your open will be extremely successful or its a spot you are opening ATC then fine, but not because of a feeling
