Hey gang....

I currently play on an unregulated poker site in the US
and I wanted to know what should be a reasonable amount to
keep on the site while (1) practicing good bankroll management skills and
(2) getting better at the games and going up in levels?

It solely depends on your current skill, how much you can afford to lose, how long deposits take (and how much deposits cost), and what stakes you're at right now.

Standard suggestion I've been seeing is 25 buy ins but that's gonna vary on the above factors.

Some people would ask:
Is this just a "learning bankroll" which you don't mind losing?
Or are you trying to run it up to a larger amount?

But that's really a nicer way of asking if you're profitable or not. If you're not profitable, figure out why your not. Post some footage or hands. Justify every fold/call/raise. Make sure your justification is mathematically sound.

Right now, I'm learning PLO at the microstakes level so you could say that I'm a losing player overall. I'm currently starting my 3rd and final bank roll with the hopes of sustaining it long enough to run it up to 7K. The only problem is that I'm very leery of running up such a large amount and not being able to get my money back.
