Basically I plan on putting 50$ into my pokerstars account and playing the $1 180man sit and gos? Is this enough to cover for not losing it all? ive made it to the final table a handfull of times before but that was before I knew much about poker and was just playing for fun and experience

As long as you stick to the $1 buy-ins, that seems fine. But you also need to ask yourself a couple of more questions. How many of these are you going to play each day? What are your goals? Is your goal to get better at poker? Is your goal to make money? Is your goal to make this $50 last as long as possible before you spend it all the way down to $0 and have to refund your account?

A BRM strategy is fine, but you also need to be thinking of other things as well.

I have bankroll management issues as well, I usually build a bankroll from winning a freeroll about$3-5 and then I'll play sit-n-gos usually $3-5 games and build it up to about $50 and then i'll move up to $10-15 games and from there i'll usually win 1 out of 3 and go back down to a $1 and that's been a pattern for the past 3 sessions, how can I go about fixing that? should I stop moving up to the bigger money games and stick to the $3-5 games? what can I do to move up and still be able to build a bankroll?

As someone else alluded to, as long as you stick to the $1 SNGs, you should be okay until you hit the $100 mark. GL!

I would rather consider a strict BRM. I think its better for you a $100 BR playing the $1 180 man to cover many things like variance, etc. Aside from going to the maximum side, its gives confidence and not playing scared poker.

Hi Serkish

I would say that you are moving up to the higher level too quick. I would suggest you build your bankroll up to a bit more than $50. I would suggest you build up to about $1000 - $1500. This way you should be able withstand a bad run or a sharp decrease in fortunes.

If you are finding it that easy to make some money at the lower level I would continue to do that, there is no rush to move up levels, especially if you are making money at the lower level.

Gl in the future. :D:D:D

thanks for the advice, I think I will stick to the lower levels and maybe it's too easy for me hence me trying to move up to the higher games. I appreciate all the advice guys.

well have questions i dont like only playing 180 people think is too tough for the 50.00 if this is your beggining strategy..

is good players and seemingly bad players at every level if i do sit and goes i prefer single tables and like double or nothing myself. either 10 seat or six seat.

i would also consider playing guaranteed events over 180 peeps maybe paying up to 3.00 each

I think 50 buy-ins are fine. But it's also a pretty agressive brm for the 180 players mtt. I would start with the 0.5$ buy-ins.

Personally I would re-evaluate at 25$.. If I lose 25 buy ins I feel like lowering the stakes is reasonable at that time.. I look at BRM as right now.. Not what I started with.. I too have the problem soemtimes going higher stakes.. or say I get to 80$.. Seem to play 5$ sngs even If i lose 10 buy ins I want to keep doing 5$ ones.. Even though I should be doing 2$ at that time. GL!!
