This is a discussion on Bankroll Management for Cash Games within the online poker forums, in the Learning Poker section; What is the typical amount that you'd put into a cash game out of your bankroll? I've heard 1/10th of your bankroll but that seems
20 buy ins is the recommended minimum. I see nothing wrong with 10 buy ins if you're building your roll and you are disciplined enough to drop limits the moment you should. No excuses or you'll go broke.
However, if you're learning the game then 20 buy ins is better for stability at tough limits.
Its depends on your comfort zone. Some people play with 20 buy-in but more serious players may play with minimum 100 buy-in.But the amount to bring at the tables at any given time-I would suggest less than 4 percent than total bankroll.
generaly 20-40 buiyns per table, 40 being nit and 20 being confident, that being said I completely agre with joe777, if you are moving up the limits, or you are being bullies here and there on new limit go 100 buyins easy. It will give you room to make more comfortable plays and give you more "adjustment time"
