First you should be a winning/break even player, else no bankroll management of the world will help you. Then you should pick a certain game type, because every game type has very different bankroll requirements and guide lines.

Try not to tilt and chase your losses meaning if your losing don't go in to the higer stakes to try to regain your losses faster.

If your losing you should grind it out at the current stakes your playing or even go lower to re build your loses if your losses are substantial.

Need more information about what you're playing but a decent base is to have 100 buyins of that said game

As mentioned, more info please.

Cash games (6 max) a minimum of 20 BI, but that is a very aggressive BRM strategy. 40BI is standard, but, as mentioned, BRM only helps if you are at least BE. I use a conservative strategy of 50 BI.

Tourney are a different story.

There are some simple guidelines for BRM
Cash games.

Pot limit and no limit Hold'em.

If you are playing pot limit or no limit poker, the safe recommended size of your bankroll is 20 times the full buy-in of where you want to play. This means that if you want to have the best chance of making money at a $1/$2 game where the maximum buy-in is $200, you should have a bankroll of at least $4000.
Another way of applying bankroll management is by only putting a maximum 5% of your entire bankroll on the table at any one time, which works out the same as having 20 times the buy-in for the game.
Limit Hold'em.

If you like to play limit Holdem however, you should have 300 Big Bets as a minimum for the limit you wish to play at. Therefore to play $1/$2 limit Holdem, you should have a bankroll of at least $600.
Tournament games.

It is recommended that you have a bankroll that will give you 40 buy-ins to the level of tournaments that you wish to play at. Therefore if you want to play at the $10+$1 Sit n Go's you should have a bankroll of $440.
But even with a BRM u can lose ur whole BR if ur skills are not good enough or the poker gods are against u ( variance)

first be a winning player....
second....
set up your goal either be aggressive bankroll management or conservative bankroll management.

after that....have discipline, know when to up level...moving to higher stack, and when to down grade....moving to lower buy in.

good luck....LOL

50 buy ins is way too much for cash game 6 max imo, 25 is perfectly fine. Must take forever to move up with 50 buy ins.

has a goal and study a lot about the type of game you want to play, then immediately do an analysis of your game and the style you want to play, and play semmpre of aordo with your bankroll.

If you can move up and find that opponents are about the same skill level then you want to move up as fast as possible. The rake will kill you at the lower levels.
