Tournament players, how many buy ins do you prefer to have to play a given tournament? I prefer 100+. I blew my roll about 7 years ago not playing it safe, was just starting out then and didnt realize what bad variance was like. anybody else been there? If so, how did you learn from the experience? I definitely learned what I think is the most important poker lesson for me, proper bankroll management.

You are right bankroll management is the basis of poker success. When playing tournaments, you often encounter dispersion and this can greatly affect finances. And having a strong bankroll and the right approach, you can keep a certain balance.

Play on your bankroll, a beginners, I for example start playing your Bank but this is a critical mistake made by many. Experience comes with time and it is better to learn from the mistakes of others.

100 seems solid. I usually aim for 50-75 buyins
