Yes, 100%.

Is it likely? Maybe not. Depends on how much of a "bankroll" you are looking for. If you want like a $5 roll, ezpz. If you want a $10,000.... well again I guess its possible if you just keep grinding those free rolls for life.

This depends on your timeframe and your monetary BRM goal.

If you want to have $100 tomorrow, it's probably hopeless.

But if it is a long term goal of yours to be a person who built an online poker bankroll from nothing, then yes it is possible. It just will take time.

If it's what you want to do, then stop playing for $ as soon as you win some of it in a free roll. Or you can try and buy in to a tournament and hope to get lucky and get into the money.

It is possible, it just depends on your time line.

I know I'll need a lot of time to earn big money.

Until now it is possible for me to play following freeroll

Bankrollmob 25 $ prize 8 times per day
Open skill legue 10 $ prize 6 times per day

Severel ticket sat for round 2 on Pokerrstars pri e 2,000 $

other different freerolls like EPT and online pokershow.

Then there is leaderboardprizes if I end in top 500 (437 right now) in Open Skill League I will qualify for Premier Skill League in May.

First gold 20 $ before June!!!

Its still just for entertainment and fun

Back several years ago, it was easy to kick-start your BR via freerolls. There were lots more including quite a few with larger prize pools. And they were even softer than they are now.

However, I no longer recommend this. Assuming you're even semi-serious about poker, it's still not hard to become a break-even player at the lowest stakes, and if you lose a few $ or even a few hundred $ before then, it's peanuts compared to how much you'll win during your poker "career" even if you only become a modest winner at low levels. Plus you'll learn faster playing for money because the competition is better, although how much better varies.

Ofcourse it is possible to make smaller starting bankroll, lets say 100 dollars. I wouldnt waste more time playing freerolls to make it bigger like 500 or 1000. With 100 you can start crushing microstakes easily (if you are good enough). Even with less in DoNs for example.

Played the EPT freeroll on Pokerstars yesterday and I made 0.45 $ as ended up in the top 600 out of 30,000.

Now the amount on Bankroll is 0.51.

Also I played to open skill legues tournaments and earned almost 130 points to the leaderboard. It brings me in a place around 250.

So I have the oppertunity to go into premier skill next month and win 1 $ for ending in the top 500 in Aprils open skill league.

I havent won anything in bankrollmob so I am still a little away from qualifying to the BRM 1500 $ freeroll for the top 200 feb-apr 2014.

Any good ideas how to spend the 0.51 $ at Pokerstars?

Of course but it can take a long time... I remember when I first started, I played exclusively freerolls.. if I made $5 on a day I would be very happy :)
Takes a long time, but since you dont risk anything, and if you have a lot of patiece you can try to get $100 maybe in a couple if weeks or maybe months...

I make my BM on freerolls. It's really possible. For winning play on low stakes and make BM bigger go step ahead. Try PS school to win some ticket for quiz

I usually play on Carbon and Bovada so I don't really get a lot of freeroll opportunities. Do those of you who play them regularly actually see skilled poker being played? I would think there'd be mostly maniac-type play going on in those games since there's essentially nothing to lose.

Just curious what skill level of players you guys tend to find in these freerolls.

Ofc it is. I did mine that way, pure and simply withou any deposit, i just won tickets to another step and made money on them. in two months just playing freerolls I did more than 150$ and i have some more tickets. Try to do the same it is better to you and you will feel very well with your achievments ;)

I think it is not a great idea, it is better just to do freerolls because these SnG 0,02$ and 0,01$ it is completly gambling and the chances you return money are such quite low. Just my opinion.
If you win something like 0,10$ in freeroll u should go to 0,2$ s&g its 5$~ first place . Not hard to win bcus all r fishes , just wait for strong hand like AJs AQ KK AA etc. then allin xD with that im sure ull get to paid seats then play better and win it . You really cant do anything else for0,10$ and grinding bankroll mobs is very wrong bcus u learn bad things that are usefull at real money tables . Hope it helps ,

The chances are low in terms of winning meaningful money quickly. However, that's mainly because the stakes are small. Just winning isn't particularly hard, and it's certainly possible to win a few hundred $ or more per year. For instance, if you average just $3 per day, that's over $1k per year.

As for it being completely gambling, that's ridiculous. If you don't have a skill advantage at these levels, the reason is there when you look in the mirror. If you do have an advantage, then how can if be completely gambling?

casinos make money by having an edge. They gamble, but in a way where for every $1 they put up, their average return is more than $1. For winning poker players, it's similar. On average, for every $ you bet, you get back a bit more. The main difference is that the casino's edge comes from the way the games and their payouts are structured while the poker players' comes from being better than their opponents.

It is possible, I've run it up more than once to $100 or more, and then lost it due to me being bad, and not managing my bankroll appropriately.

Right if your are serious about building a br you have $7.50 that's 70 buy in for the 10c 360 man sit and go's you can build a bank rll by playing these and or keep playing the pokerstars leaderboard and also bankroll leader board.

I had a br of $310 but had to with draw a lot of it so I am playing the 50c and bankroll mobs freerolls and also pokerstars freerolls too.

I earned another 90 points for the Open Skill League so now I am placed around 160 top 500 qualify for Premier Skill League.

0.16 points for the BankrollMob leaderboard. Still needs about 0.2 to qualify for the 1,500$ freeroll. And more then 3 points to go directly into the leaderboard money.

Yesterdays EPTlive freeroll ended in the bubble.

But im closer and I believe in it.

Two times 0.25 and 0.10 one time used for sng so now bankroll is 0.07.

I realised is though to Build bankroll on freerolls

Update on bankroll.

I just made another 0.06 $ in bankrollmob. That is another 0.06 points to the three months leaderboard.

So now i have 0.13 $ in bankroll and 2.42 points in the leaderboard.

But 9 days left if I go in the money 1.5 a day about 15 times with an avarage of 0.06 points that gives me 0.9 points and I'll end up with 3.32 points that should make the cut.Last three times 3.41 3.33 3.31

Or just one final table

The cut for 1,500 $ freeroll has raised so I still need more than 0.20 points.

Yes it's possible. My experience, may have been two years ago, i made like 80 cents from a bankroll and managed to raise it to 5 dollars. At that time i didn't play very well and i lost control of my emotions so i lost them, but if you are able to progress with those ammounts it's completely possible. However i consider it a waste of time, which is precious to me.

I made my bankroll based on freerolls

I did it!!!!

My bankroll is right now 120 $. All based on freerolls.

So it is proved you can build a bankroll based on freerolls.

The big question is what to do with it now???
