Everyone,

I've tinkered around with online poker for fun in the past and have just started playing semi-seriously on pokerstars.

Right now I've just been playing 1c/2c NL and the occasional $1.50.

My question is for anyone who has started out with about $100 and successfully built a bankroll / moved up in limits.

What games did you primarily play? SNGs? LIMIT?

I'm trying to remain disciplined and not jump up to limits that I can't afford with such a small bankroll, but am finding it tough.

On the SNG you bankroll will not begin to work. If you have 100 dollars, count on 100 included in tournaments. Play or MTT for a 1 dollar or kash.

If you have limited BR and want to build it, have to select games with less variance and short term in nature.

You have to follow strict BRMS.

If it goes up, you can loosen likewise.

Just took a look at the bounty builders. They look interesting. I'm guessing you can make your initial investment back just for knocking out a few other players. Anyone have much success with them.

Thanks all for the quick replies, def something to think about.

I wouldnt really listen or read any of these because its just standard responses.... If you have $100 on your account you should be playing $5 sit n gos in my opinion. IF you are a winning player. I myself have never lost more than 16 Buy ins through variance playing for 3 years via SnGs But MTTs are a different story and you should probably stick with 50 buy ins for tourneys. So have $250 if you want to play the $5 tourneys. People will say you need more, but honestly if you are a SEMI serious player then this SHOULD be enough. If you are trying to make monthly income off of it then thats a different story

I think this is solid advice. Aside from the fact that the $5 sng will probably have much stiffer competition from what you are playing in now.

Well in my BR i only play in limits 100x my buy-in, if i had 100dollars, probly i play SnG $1 or some MTT $1, maybe The Hot 0,55 (that is a great tournament).

Now, it's your option to play SnG or MTT.
