Best way to avoid bad beats, actually, the only way is to quit the game. Focus on how you play any hand, not the outcome. Over time proper play overcomes bad beats.

How do you avoid bad beats? What do you do in this situation.

Question for you, can you predict the future, heck can you even control what will happen 5 seconds Into the future from now?

Logical answer Is no, because you can't predict the future nor can you stop future events.

So asking how do you "avoid bad beats", Is like asking what will happen to your life tomorrow, and since you can't tell what will happen to you tomorrow, why even bother asking such a question In the first place?

I'd also like to ask what do you consider a "bad beat" Ak<AQ? AA<QQ? Set over set?

All of these things are bound to happen eventually (If you play long enough), and they are not "Control-able", yet they are "Avoid-able" given that you "Study" your opponents very well and work on your "Hand reading skills+ranging game".

That being said, that doesn't mean you can "Avoid" that which Is bound to happen, you can only "Minimize" the losses when they do happen, given that you have worked on your "Over all game". Since the game Is about "Knowing your players", you would need to know when to "Fold" and when to "Get It In On the flop". Yet to do this you would need 100% accurate Info, and even than that doesn't mean your "100% to win", It Just means that you made the correct +EV move at the correct time and that this time It didn't work out as you would have hoped for It to work out for you.

I hope I explained things to you as well as possible

You can't unless you do what Kenzie said, quit the game, now I don't recommend the following but slashing writs is an option.

It also depends on what you think a bad beat is.

Do you consider this a bad beat. :D

It was all in on the flop.

Bad beats are part of the game, everyone has it. When a bad beat happens to me, I try to learn from it and see if I misplayed or not.

Bad beats so much part of game playing on some clients it's almost foreseeable when board pairs. I don't think there's any solution just hope client starts a 'Badbeat Jackpot' kind of scenario so at least some kind of benefit can come of it

BBJ's on most clients are quads+ So unless you already had Quads and are hoping to lose, I don't see the good that can come out from It

It's all about using the odds to your advantage over the long term. 95% probability of winning means that 5% of the time you're going to lose. You want to do your best to have the least amount of your money in the pot when that happens.

Unfortunately there's no way of predicting when that 5% is going to occur, and to hear most tell it, it occurs with uncanny frequency.

I am very tight aggressive at the start of the tournament. Play with hands Group 1 and 2 :)

A bad beat is a bad beat because it is mostly unavoidable, unforseen, and unusual.

Only way to avoid a BB is to never get it in unless you have the nuts...on the river. And if you play that way, you'll see your stack inevitably shrink.

Bad beats are part of the game. We all will suffer from and benefit from them. Main thing is to stay focused on making the right decision at each point in a hand, and see where your opponent went wrong to take advantage of them next time. Also be honest with yourself. Was it really a bad beat or did you misplay the hand allowing your opponent to catch.

The only realy way to beat bad beats is to play the game SO MUCH that variance becomes statistically irrelevant. Though you'll never be able to outrun it completely as you'd need to play an infinite number of hands for the variance to be 0% and for you to always come on top. Just settle for as close to that as you can get.

Basically the more you play the less luck has an impact on your game. Assuming you're an above average player who rarely makes -ev plays.

Last evening participated CC freeroll. Ended up in top 100 ... had about 11bb left to play. Waited good hand until i got AA and raised 3bb. Player after me shoved. Player before me also joined ad then me too. Player after me had TT and player before me KK. Flop gave additional 10 and finally he got the pot. Bad beat? Just usual day in freeroll.

There will always be bad beats! The important thing is how we respond and the time we spend in them. A professional player, prepared, can get out of this tuning soon! In cash game we can sit out for a while. In tournaments we have the intervals to reflect, whether live or online.

I'd like to say if you play the best hand and take your chances, it will mostly fall in your favour. However, 5 bad beats when i went to the river with the best hand yesterday makes me wonder some times. My little bankroll is gone and I'm back to square. Oh well, I could quit i guess!

You can play all your cards right and still have a bad beat. I had a flush and went all in, the guy called me. On the river he got a full house. I played everything right but some things are beyond our control. Professional poker players use it to their advantage but even they face the same odds.
