Hey Guys,

I havent been a winning player online yet, but im also only down about 200$. I know thats not good haha, but i've read on these forums and in other sources of guys who it takes years to turn around. Seeing as nobody likes to lose money, I thought I'd actually give this bankroll thing a try. I understand the concept of 100 buy ins for whatever style/game you want to play. I figured that was the reason why I was losing, seeing as i focused on 6$ sit n gos with about 100 in the bankroll. haha I know that was a horrible decision lol

NOW THOUGH,

I have 100$ on and i've been focusing on the .02/.05 rush on full tilt 6 max. I've actually been doing good on there and I have a good feel for the game. The buy in is 5 so I only have 20 buy ins, I understand that's way too short, but if I'm beating this game reguarly, is it foolish of me to stay on this level? or should i just drop it down a notch.

Any feedback is appreciated, thanks guys

20 buyins for the micros is fine. 100 buyins is higher limits.

Bank Roll Management means nothing if you aren't a winning player. You'll just go broke a lot slower using proper BRM.

Yeah I gotta agree with tpc. yeah tpc is right on,if ur having problems winning then bankroll management will really only help u lose less, but ull still be losing.

If ur a having difficulties winning poker, it might be many things and not just bankroll management. there might be holes in ur game, u might have poor table selection, or ur playing against winning players (especially in headsup), u might have problems with tilt, like u lose and decide to go up in stakes to make up ur loses. You might be following advice from a book that is designed for playing hi stakes games but ur taking that strategy and playing lo stakes. The list goes on and on.

Until u figure out what ur problem is, id tell u to play the full tilt playchip tables and skip the cash tables.

The competition at the hi playchip tables is comparable to the lo limit cash table ur playing on the cash side. It really wouldn’t be a waste of time because ur playing similar competition. And the patience from playing playchipers would help u become a better player also.

There also isn’t a need to pay for lessons that u coulda gotten for free at the playchip tables.

2nd id say if u were to stuck on continuing playing those cash sngs and tourns, id say stay at a single level for awhile, - u sound like u played all over the place. If ur losing at a level, take a step back review the hand history see if were ur going wrong. Look for a particular type of hand or situation that ur having big time trouble with, figure it out. U should also go to a site like pokerprolabs and see where ur finishes are in those tourns and sngs. for example, if ur finshes are mostly in the early finishes to middle finishes categories on the right of ur username, ur probably gambling way too much early in ur tourns and sngs. And dont go up levels really fast although u can.

I really wouldn’t wrry about losing that 200$. But what I would be concerned about is figuring out how to get u to becoming a winning player.

Be careful though; Rush tends to be swingier than regular cash games. Don't try moving up until you've got more than 20 buyins for the next level.

im agree with dreams of tragedy about the bankroll management, i guess if you have a bank roll of 100 dolars you are right playing tables at .02/.05 but i guess too is better you sit with 2 dollars on the tables because if you loose you can enter in more chances on the tables... GL

yea okay cool, actually i win alot in home games like I've just decided to give online poker a try recently and I never really put a whole lot of effort into it, I just assumed that my good play in live games would transfer(clearly not the case lol) But I would play 6$ and 12$ sit n gos with a bankroll of 50$. Clearly poor br haha but I think my main problem was just bankroll management

thanks guys
