Sometimes even the best of us let our emotions take control. I'm a solid player when I'm running good but can sometimes take big losses when running bad because of tilt. Anyone have any advice for avoiding tilt

I usually after loosing big pots fold 3 hands or just sit out and be back in 5 min.
You need to cool and when you loose you musnt go all in in next hand.

Find out what puts you on tilt 1st and take it from there. There's a lot of reasons people tilt and alot of those reasons are fairly easy to fix, some others require a bit more work

I can easily be on tilt if Im stress or tired.

Now, I make sure Im physically condition. I can stop playing if badbeat/suckout happens compared if Im not conditioned.

i always thought that tilt was getting angry/frustrated and playing a bad hand aggressively....

but, i think that Tilt (for me) is any thing that changes my regular game or my confidence....

sometimes with some big wins and a large stack i will play too confident and start playing without thinking/etc... playing marginal hands oop or calling 3-bets when i should likely fold.. i get distracted by the smile on my face

sometimes if i lose a few big pots, with good hand, i will start playing scared and tighten up and fold to any betting and stop betting for value or c-betting...

what i find lately is that if i just focus on playing good hands and with position and try to be confident that this will give me wins over the long-run.... and try not to let any big losses/wins tilt me... i try to chuckle at the bad beats..

i've also tried to picture some losses as "good beats"... what i mean, is if i lose to a 4 of a kind with a full house, that is a "good beat"... it means, that i played the hand the way i shoud've but came up against a better hand.... which will happen.... if i lose to "good beats" then i try to not to sweat it.... as opposed to losing with 2nd pair, crappy kicker to a board that could have flush/straight/over pairs/etc... which isn't a bad beat or good beat.... it's just bad poker

my comments should be read considering the fact that i have only played for 1.5 years and have only recently began to move from break-even to slight roi...

i have read abut 6 books and watched/read tonnes of videos/blogs... i am in love with this game called poker

You have to be aware and know that poker is a game of variance and long-term results , so we were more resistant to tilt

But if you go on tilt , I recommend running out to play a while, rest your mind and come back when you're well again
