That's right.

Ask me any question you have about microstakes.
-$1 to $2 SNGs
-$2nl hold 'em, full ring

And I will do my best to answer.

Keep in mind that all answers will be based off of my experiences and how I approach the game.

Ask away!

Is it worth it to 3bet light or is 2nl really just money farming? Right now it feels like I just wait patiently or not even that patiently (but I am working on that) for them to hand me their monies.

Should I 3bet AQs on the button against a 18/12/2 villain in the hijack with 100bb effective stacks?

...Yes, when it is complete.

When are you moving up in stakes?
...After I finish the full graph.
Is it worth it to 3bet light or is 2nl really just money farming?
...It would depend on the opponent. I rarely 3bet light in 2nl.

Right now it feels like I just wait patiently or not even that patiently (but I am working on that) for them to hand me their monies.
...I play the patient waiting game as well since its very easy to get opponents to stack off with weak hands, but I don't play like a super nit either. I raise a lot hands in position and open with a lot of hands in mid-late and I c-bet a lot.
Should I 3bet AQs on the button against a 18/12/2 villain in the hijack with 100bb effective stacks?
...If the player is an aggressive regular, I probably wouldn't 3bet here often and just opt to call and reevaluate after the flop. You have position on him. If I do 3bet, I'm prepared to fold to a big 4bet/shove.
just one question ..... are you proof they can't be beat :p
...No, this is my evil plan to dumb everyone's game down at the micros, giving me a slight advantage. I hope to win more often, now.
Why do you still call yourself a 'Worthless Member" under yer name when it's been proven yer a great guy?
....Because my overall profits is <$0. So, I am worthless.
Also, I consider myself to be worthless (as a member) since I haven't really accomplished anything significant since I joined. I don't view others' the same, though, this is just how I view myself.
above.

What's the best adjustment/advice you have for someone playing $2NL, when compared to the standard TAG style or even LAG style for higher stakes?

In other words, most FAQs/tutorials tend to be geared towards reasonable experienced opponents. What's the key adjustments to that if you want to play $2NL?

Ok... here is my question:

When you get pocket pairs what two suits do you prefer?
Or do you not care?
If you do care:
Do you want the same two colors?
Does the preference change with rank?

I have other questions... but I will go slowly.

I'll try to take this a bit more serious than some other CCers...here goes nothing:

I've played my share of donkaments...I mean freerolls, not to mention...waaay too many sngs/mtts, etc, etc.

My question is this then...when I've dabbled, albeit spareingly, in ring games I've noticed more BS bluffs than I remember anywhere else (except maybe DRUNK live games back in college). Therefore, other than a decent BR, what else do I need and what am I to expect when I inevitably get to higher stakes ring games? Same ol' BS or do people actually play the cards are they meant to be played? Sheer curiosity at this point as my only decent BR lies @ bodog and I hate the skin of the site...couldn't possibly stand to play there day after day...lol. Anyway...I'm a total newb to the ring game action & I'd like to get decent (serious) input.

Philthy, you are one of the members I actually look up to on here (I'm not a stalker;)). You provide good feedback on HA's and are very honest with your opinion. And I have tons of questions that I will gladly give you, but I have to wait until later! I'm in a tourney right now and I suck at multitasking.:D:D:D

Anyway, keep up the good work and don't be so down on yourself. You are good guy with a lot to give to this site.

Just for the record. I respect Philthy and his play. I'm pretty sure hes felted me at our 02nl tables more than once.

But I can't as a serious question, as I am entirely unteachable, stubborn and a permanent puffer-fish.

...You know, I really didn't make any big adjustments to my game when I started playing 2nl seriously. While, I've never really played anything higher, I can't compare the styles with the limits. My only advice is to just play straight-forward ABC, TAG poker and try to avoid fancy play syndrome. Suited connectors and small pocket pairs have a lot of value at 2nl because of implied odds. I'm always limping in/call small raises with them. Also, the over-value bet its another big tool that can be used a lot to your advantage. Other than that, its nothing really. Don't stack off light, don't 3bet light...

...Don't care, but I would like to see another card on the flop.

...its nice when they're the same colors, but its not biggie.

...Bare feet. I like being comfortable.

...Well, I don't play higher than 2nl. And sometimes 200nl (lol). So, I really can't tell you what you could expect. My understanding is there will always be bad players, no matter what limit you're playing.

Sheer curiosity at this point as my only decent BR lies @ bodog and I hate the skin of the site...couldn't possibly stand to play there day after day...lol. Anyway...I'm a total newb to the ring game action & I'd like to get decent (serious) input.
...Well, if you're serious about getting into ring games, my only advice is to play it. You're always going to run into bad players, no matter what. The idea shouldn't be to try and avoid bad players, it should be how can you adjust your games that'll give you the edge over bad players. Also, if you don't like bodog, get out of there. If you don't like where you're playing at, you probably wont be putting your all into the game and that could cost you.

...Thanks for the kind words. Good luck in your MTT.
Which is tougher, 2nl or 200nl?
...Neither.

...What do you mean? An African or European swallow?

I have QJ offsuit in the BB. I have two limpers and a min raise from the button. SB folds. What do I do?

I'm on the button with AJs. First position has raised 4xBB and is a known LAG. CO calls and is known TAG. What do I do?

Is this ring or MTT? Stacksizes? Blinds?

What happened to nl25, or at least nl10?

How many buy ins do you recommend for nl2? I'm thinking about 800 but i'm not sure if i'm a little scared to move up.

Started playing, but then decided to cash-out most of my BR. After donating about $200 to Freak and Lady T, I cashed out $400, leaving myself with $250. Then donated about $120 to two friends so they could play and I'm at $130 now.

ETA: 800 buy-ins is way more than enough. Anything about 600 is just silly.

...I'd call here when you are getting 5:1 when its on you and if you think the two limpers' are going to call along as well, you're getting better than 7:1. These are they type of hands I like to play if I can get in cheap with a lot of opponents. Of course, since I'm OOP, looking for two pair, a flopped straight or at least a pair and a straight draw. Top pair/good kicker just isn't going to cut it here, so I would just check TPGK or a draw and try to see a cheap turn. Fold if there is any action, unless they're really small bets. Fold preflop if you get any action from any of the limpers.

I'm on the button with AJs. First position has raised 4xBB and is a known LAG. CO calls and is known TAG. What do I do?
...I'd just call here. Folding is another option, but since I close the betting and stacks are deep, I think its ok to call and try to hit hard. You could reraise, you might beat the LAG and want to isolate with the TAG in position, but I would fold any 4bet. Again, you're looking to hit the flop strong or you let it go. You have position on your opponents, its easier to reevaluate after the flop and action.
since when are you cooler than me?
...Never.

here come my serious questions.
How you been?
...Ok.

How is poker treating you?
...I'm not sure. No big wins, no big losses. Nothing to brag or vent about.

What levels are u playing at these days?
...The same micros. I've thought about moving up but I dont know what to do anymore. I don't know if it's worth to continue playing or not. I haven't gotten anywhere with it and I don't see anything big the future if I continue playing.

Anything interesting in life?
...Nothing is ever interesting with me.
how many of these donkfest tables do you play at once?
...I 9-12 table 2nl and I do 4-6 SNGs.
hows college so far?
...I'm sure its +EV, but I'm starting to get bored with it.
