I was playing a PLO8 Tournament the other day and got Quad Deuces for my hole cards. Of course I folded. My question is, what are the odds on having Quads for hole cards. Thanks

Yip, I get 1 20825 (same as 13 in 270725).

You get 4 cards.
1st can be anything.
2nd needs to match so 3 in 51
3rd needs to match so 2 in 50
4rd needs to match so 1 in 49

3/51 * 2/50 * 1/49 give the answer above.

I didn't want to sound too confident in case I messed up the maths ;-)

Any 4 from 52 is 52!/(4! x 48!)

And there are 13 lots of 4 cards the same.

Wouldn't you have to figure in the hole cards that each other player has received in each orbit of dealing? Most PLO tables have 8 players, so the 2nd card I got would be from a deck of 44 and 3rd card from 36 etc . Take care and let me know if that's right. If you can't tell, I'm so confused, lol,.

I couldn't give you a definitive answer to that question but I don't think it makes a difference UNLESS you know what some of those cards are.

Exactly Rich, odds are odds, unless you have a crystal ball (or the dealer flips one over).

It doesn't make any difference if the cards are in the deck or on the table, the chances are the same.

No, because in that case you should count in the chance none of the other 7 cards dealt are of the same value as your card.
