Hello out there, I just wanted to know if anyone had any tips on taking notes on players. A buddy of mine likes to copy and paste HUD results, but I seem to find myself writing a book on someone. If anyone has any clever ways to tag players I would like to hear about it.

p.s. If you see me online don't take my money! :)

I use color labels....... If I label a player in Red, means he's dangerous (good player), Yellow means he is a bad player (donk/fish) and Purple means, undecided (need more info on the player)

Also instead of writing a long sentence about a player use abbreviations.....for example:
CS - instead of writing out CALLING STATION
LAG- loose aggressive
etc etc....
just make up ur own to what suits u

I play at poker stars only and also use the colour codes.
There are 8 colours.
You can use them as you please.
My current system is as follows
Yellow-tight passive
Green- tight aggressive
Light blue-loose passive
Dark blue- loose aggressive
Purple-likes to bully do not try to limp
Pink-calling station do not try to bluff
Orange- Steals blinds
Mustard- Rude and obnoxious mute chat

Right now I only play at the 1c/2c NL cash tables and have rarely come across a player that I have tagged with a colour.
I do not tag players in freerolls because it rarely represents the way they will play if they have actual cash in the game. I also play a lot differently in freerolls so hopefully the ones I play with that make notes have freeroll notes on me which are totally irrelevant.

Google "poker notes shorthand" and you'll find some tips to make it quicker.

as much as i hate to admit, i take notes in 4 ways:
1 - good/winning player, +roi +profit, regular at (whatever sng or mtt i see this player)
2 - donk/fish
3 - i'm not proud of this one, but i can't let things go that easily.
if i get knocked out b/c of a really bad play...i'll note "idiot/dumbfck" which usually means i'll target this player next time. it's happened plenty of times as i see them around
4 - forum member (whether cc or other)

i don't tag players with lag/tag/calling station b/c i feel players will adjust their play depending on stack size, how far into mtt, etc.

I never heard of the auto note taker sounds pretty cool. I think I'm going to check out a few of these things to make it easier on me. This is something a lot of people don't really talk about but if i never asked the question I probably would have just kept writing books on people. Thanks for all of the good feedback and ill let you guys know how much it helped out.
