Another little thread where the title is self explanatory.

Do you adjust your bet sizing and range when antes come into play?

It surely matters when one is short stacked. Antes could add up to a significant portion of you stack. Do you take that into account when bet sizing? or affect you shove range. Any other consideration?

What say you all?

I am perceiving that adjusting of ranges depends on how much big blinds fits in your stack, How much average of chips is, how much chips from blinds and antes, there are in the pot pre-flop; the style of your opponents and their positions and their stacks... It is more complex than you can imagine. But there is no better feeling than set up a strategy and see it happening as such as you planned.:D

Yes when the antes comes up then my betsizing is gonna adjust on the table.
My shoving range will be wider.
Probably I will open shove up to 20bb (depending on position of course) and up to 25bb open shove if it's a bounty tournament, but not so wide because people will bounty hunt more often.

Of course I do. And when playing online, it's super simple if your presets are "pot' or fractions of pot. It only gets tricky live. WPT live events have incorporated a system whereby the button pays the "ante" for the whole table (one BB, regardless of number of players seated). I believe it's called "Button Ante".
