I would later get busted with AK vs QJ with QJ getting 2 pair and me foolishly trying to get the straight. But I wanted everyones analysis on this hand on whether it was A) a good fold, and B) what could be a range of hands to put him on (which is a major weakness of mine.) First the hand:

I personally was thinking pocket pair to be honest (99-qq). But like before this is a freeroll. So any ideas on if I played it correctly or any subtle changes you would have made? Any info would be appreciated. My reason for folding btw was because of the PF bet.

I cant see what you are beating here. Again I dont play free rolls so maybe I shouldnt even comment but in a non freeroll calling the reraise is a questionable play, you are really dominated by a 3 betting range in a buy in.

The ones at this forum that analyze hands and do it well seem to want to see HH's posted like this:

EHLShakes ?????

I guess it helps for the analyzation to be unbiased to results.

Are you playing any micro stakes, like .10c mtt?

Whether this is a freeroll or not, I feel you made the right decision based on the post-flop bet in conjunction with the raise over the top pre-flop. You had AJd, but he could have had AA, AK, AQ, and at a minimum KK. So this to me seems like the right play based on the information he was giving you. Tough laydown but a good one.

EHLShakes raises to 240 Fold here. AJ is a decent, but not great hand. If you were on the button and the pot hasn't been opened then by all means raise with it, but raising with it UTG is not a good idea. If you get reraised you pretty much have to throw it away after making a large investment already. If you get called you'll probably be playing the pot out of the position.
Myles Joseph folds
Pok3rBall folds
Safty4win folds
itsoveryouknow raises to 560
MERLIN333 folds
sydneyslim folds

EHLShakes calls 320 Given the pot odds this is probably an ok call, but you need to be very careful on the flop.

He could have a large range of hands here. But given you raised UTG it should be quite a small range (though this is a freeroll?). Against a solid opponent expect to be seeing AQs+/AKo/JJ+. Whatever it was, it probably had you beat.

Thanks CF I play mostly freerolls and the occasional micro sng because I am not good enough (at least I dont fell I am) to really build a bankroll. I figured while suited it was ok to do that, I definetly would have thrown it away if it was unsuited.
