Am I building my bankroll up too slow?

I know that profit is profit no matter the circumstance, but I just want to find out if during the time I play I should be making more profit than I am already making. Everyday I have been playing for about 5-6 hours a day. I'm playing shorthanded £0.01/0.02 no limit.

Day 1 - started off with £1.36
Day 2 - £3.45
Day 3 - £6.50

So in about three days I have made a lot more than what I started with in a sense. Is this decent earnings for these stakes and time spent playing?

6x3 = 18 hours played
6.50-1.36 = £5.14 profit
5.14/18 = £0.29 profit per hour
0.29 = 14.5 big blinds per hour

14.5BB per hour means you are currently running very good.

For example, if you were playing at this rate at £1/£2, you would be making £29.00 per hour.

Regarding the stakes you want to gamble at... that is a personal thing and depends on your own finances and experience. Personally I never buy-in with any more than 5% of what I am willing to gamble, so if your bankroll is <=£80 then I'd advise to stick with your current stakes until it gets there and then maybe take a stab at £0.02/£0.04 if you want to quicken up the progress.

If the progress still seems too slow, it is better to multi-table than to risk your bankroll at one higher table. This is because, if you can't beat the variance at 0.01/0.02 consistently, then you certainly won't be able to do it with higher stakes and even less of a bankroll.

But in short, you are currently doing very well. It could be luck, it could be skill, it could be both. Stay patient at your current stakes and we will see. To put things into perspective, even 1BB per hour is a good win rate in poker.

At micro stakes? Maybe for a totally new player.

If you're winning at ~15bb/hr. then I guess that would translate to ~20bb/100hands Sure that's running decently but not out of the realm of the norm for winning players in micro stakes.
I'd think a winrate of 1.5bb/100 at micros would be not good (unless you're a newer player)

Sorry, I didn't mean it literally - the way I read the question I assumed he was a totally new player starting off with a bankroll of £1.36... what I meant to say was that any win rate is good, purely in terms of the game, because most players are losing players long term regardless of stakes.

I would focus more on the long term and less on short term. You will see if you are building it good as time goes by.

Thanks for the insight people. I'll keep this thread updated with my progress. I personally am enjoying what i'm doing, my money will hopefully steadily grow some more but I started this thread just to see if I should be making more money etc; with the time played but it seems as though I'm doing well. Currently at around £8.17 which I cashed out yesterday so I can deposit into pokerstars and get a bonus.

Microstakes is for learning the game. The money you make/lose is just a way for you to check if you learn/improve or not.
Don't translate microstakes money into money/hour.

This is my personal opinion.
