When I usually play online poker and go all in I usually lose 70 to 80% of my all ins. Does this happens to anyone else? I usually would push all ins with big pocket pairs or a good holding on the flop. but will lose to the river. any advices?

^I would have thought position was less relevant to shoving since all future action is then out of your hands.

You probably get to loose-passive games, they have such a style of play

may need to pay more attention to the theory and study of materials, as well as tactics of the game

Depends, if someone shoves into you they're most likely indicating a strong hand. Sometimes I'm in a position where I'll shove if no-one else has, and most of the time when I do I win. I lose most all-ins if someone else shoved first

Then you choose the wrong spot. Maybe you are shortstacked in tournament and then its easy to call your push. When it occurs in most of these situations you should overthink your playstyle..

Put forth some hands for us to analyze, we'll pick apart your play and tell you where you're going wrong.

you touched on a very important topic - the river map, many do not take it into account and lose money, it is not worth expanding the bank, if the chances are against you - I wish you luck on the river

It depends a lot on your position, your stack and how your opponents are behaving on the table. Sometimes it is a good option to wait for the flop when you have a high pair and act aggressively after the flop. The all in may scare you and if you did it, you could get more chips.

do not play all in
3-bet every time I had good cards before the flop
post-flop be aggressive be a good table
It's not a good flop!
Always remember ... you play to win
not to lose chips !!!

The best way to fix this is look at the key factors in determining when to shove, such as your position, stack size and effective stack sizes, starting hand and hand strength throughout the rest of the hand, what happened before you (i.e. raises, lots of limpers, etc.), board textures and general play styles of everyone at the table (i.e. call machines, TAGs, passive). Each of these separately is usually covered in their own lessons or whatnot and you can find a few good items on hand shoving on the web to hopefully help you out, but first focus on the the basics I mentioned and build up from there, good luck!

One problem I see with pre flop all in is if you have aces and don't push then you risk having multiple people in at the flop all of whom can catch two pair or whatever on the flop and beat you where it is usually to hard for people to lay down the aces so they lose a lot where if they went all in they hopefully limit the people and chances against them. In my mind pre flop all in has one of two purposes I do not want a call or I want as few as possible. No call you win by not losing any chips any more than one or two callers especially online and that could be trouble. People always get upset when their aces get called /beat especially by a weak hand. I was playing a live game and after several raises around I had a gut go all in and I called with AA he had 8 3 off and beat me. I know people blame the online games but it happens live and there is no remedy. Aces really only have two other cards to help them or flush / straight but any other card combination has multiple that can help. That said I still prefer to get AA but no matter if you are aggressive and all in or playing possum I dont think there is a good way as the other person and the flop can crush you. Still I am usually more careful going all in for a live game than online just some thoughts.

Maybe you open too many hands? And about top pairs - allin is a wrong way often. It 's my favorite mistake.

Key advice is try to shove with best hand and hope for the best.

I also have my share of defeats when shoving.

I guess the key is being comfortable losing the all in. Or, at least, if you lose even with high pairs, the loss is affordable. It gives you "less tilt", and in the long run variance doesn't harm you.

Betting 100% of your money to gain 100% of profit, doesn't sound like a better strategy than spinning a roulette odds or even.

If at the time you go all in you have the best hand you are making the right decision and long term you will be a winner. Don't let short term variance deceive you. Good luck!

Stop giving Allin, play the ABCs of poker, see the flop, see the turn, see the river, even with premium cards do not go allin pré-flop.

Lots of good advice to ponder here. Think I will avoid the all in from the start from now on, but I still find it hard when the river ends up biting me.

You should move all in preflop, if you all in on the flop, someone who hit top pair will call you and has better odds to improve their card unless you improve your card on the flop...

Not always a strong pocket is a victorious, you must read the opponent's card and read the bluffing he or not. Sometimes you need to match with AA
