Hi guys, just had a hand at a 6 max ring game. My hole cards were king 10 suited. By the river i hit straight to the king. There were no full house or flush draws. Im obviously one below the nuts, i know that the only hole cards that can possibly beat me are ace 10.

Down to me and one other. This guy is new, i have about 10 hands of info. He pot size raises and i think its worth an all in. He calls and shock horror. He has ace 10.

Now, was this a bonehead move? In a ring game with that hand should i have called, raised, or gone all in?

Its definitely a call when you have the straight at that point. An all in push is a little risky, but I would've done it in a heartbeat with only one hand able to beat you. It was just a bad beat, but those things happen, that's poker. 6 max ring games are def my favorite tho!

Thanks awaiting cashout. Ive had the same situation before with a king high flush. The only hole cards that can beat me are two hearts, one being the ace, then they turn over that exact hand.

This. With KQJ9 on the board, you are mostly splitting or losing. You might get a call now and then from two pair or a set, but it's pretty unlikely. Just call.

You should have posted a hand history, But (based on tha info you gave) I think it was ok. We can never be afraid against a possible better hands cos almoust always there can be a better hand... :)

I probably wouldn't have shoved all in...but I would've at least bet a significant amount. Then again, I don't really know what your chip count was, and I don't know where the blinds were at. Overall I think it was the right move, just unlucky is all.

I'm calling. You have no info on the villain and the only thing a smart player will call you with is the nuts or maybe 10x.

Don't be shoving here, you need to layout your information better. Most the time against competent players your going to be chopping, and then the occasional losing to the bigger straight, aka a10 here. Your just hurting yourself more with upping the rake. Even a fish can see a one card straight.
