I have 5100 chips average stack is 8000 hour and thirty into tourny table folds i raise to 1200 pre flop table folds to the 300 bb with 9000+ chip stack who re raised another 1200 i call, flop comes 8 5 2 mix BB puts me all in, and I call he turns up 99 and I'm out of tourny.
Did i play this hand correctly? Thanks for any input.

I would have folded to the allin. You missed and he either hit or already had you beat.

I'm assuming the blinds are 150/300 ?
If so, raise less pre. If it's a table of freerollers who are defending blinds real wide, you might want to open to 900. Otherwise 650 to 750 is fine.

As played (preflop raise to 1,200) once villain re-raises you to 2,400, just get it in! Don't flat here.
After calling that preflop raise, doubt I'm ever folding the flop.
There's 4,950 in the middle (not including antes), we have 2,700 left in stack (there's only ~ 1/2 pot-sized bet left in effective stacks) so when villain shoves we're now getting 2.8 to 1

Try to work on thinking ahead in a hand (ie. if I call here preflop what will the size of the pot be, what will villain likely be doing? as he's first to act. Will I call?). When you think this through it makes rrai preflop even more obvious.

Yeah I new i was prob beat there, i should have folded, i was just pot committed by then, and hoping for a suck out :(

It happens just consider the options next time your in that position.

^^ only can give some added info.

1st raise less (max 2.5x IMO) and almost always get it in preflop with your stacksize, unless there is crazy action behind you like 3+ other players go allin behind you or that you have real solid reads on players that they only 3bet AA/KK, <--- both obvious are rare.

As played preflop : get it in preflop.
As played postflop: get it in on flop. You shouldn' t never get in this spot because ,you already should have got it in preflop.

I agree with Orfice. Depending on your read of the BB, it's push or fold when you got re-raised.
