Say your holding a small/med pair against AK AQ AJ I know that the pair is a favorite to win but how many actual times are you going to get flopped by an Ace, or you flopping a trips, what would your thinking be when shoving or calling a shove with AK or A pair

If you have a big stack and your opponent has smaller stack and you get mid pair and he shoves with AK i think you should call maybe there will be a 9 or there wont be A or K but if your opponent has bigger stack and he shoves i dnt reccommend calling

yes I agree with yup because the big stack always have advantage, the only way to win is with pair like AA or KK

Obviously AK is a shovable hand in most low stack:large blind situations, but that doesn't make me hat AK any less.
Too many people put way to much stock into big slick.
If I can get away with a slow building pot on AK I'm more than happy to.
Also I'm seeing people in mid stakes MTT and SnG pushing early tournament with PP's as small as 2's and 3's.
As little sense as most would think this makes it's almost standard hoping that some fish is pushing AQ or AK.
Simply enough they're already ahead.

If you are asking if I know I am against AK with a pocket pair then it would depend on the game and situation. In a ring game, I'd shove every time as I have the small percentage advantage and over time that will win out. In a tournament, I'd go if I am short stacked or have a strong chip lead to knock the other out.

You must separate ring games from tournament like have been said. However, try to install poker tools to improve your game.

A pocket pair has a slight advantage over AK if it goes right down to the river. The reason that I dont push preflop, is that once you see the flop, it is much easier to push and get players off their AK or to fold if there are over cards to your pocket pair (and someone is betting strong against you).

In freerolls with a large field I'm seeing players re-raising my AK pre-flop. I've become more paranoid and started to fold especially at early stages of tournaments. Then I find out they're holding J9, but that's not the point. I'm preferring to take it easy with the betting preflop.

If you have more chips than the opponent with AK, you have to play with it. When you have less chips with a good pair, you have to play with it, especially when the blind is big. That's my philosophy.

Ak is a call if you're facing a pf raise & you're around 20 bb. Focus on the bb & player tendencies. Not that complicated. Cheers

there is a big difference between AK and AJ. with the first pair, you can be exposed especially in the 3 bet pot. with the other, you need to play carefully.

AK AQ Or A with any card does not mean much against a pair be it even 22 if out of the 5 cards that will be on the table does not enter an A or the other card you have in hand or a combination in which you could to punish. I have lost many times with AK against a pair.

Absolutely agree. As Negreanu says, AJ is the middle hand. I always think, what position am I in now? Can I win a pot? Or I've already lost. There is a video where Negreanu loses half of the stack with AJ's hand.
