Hey, i want to discus 2 situations in a early stage of a MTT. You don't have any information about your opponents yet. The first hand in the tournament. You look at your cards: Kings! Lets say it isn't a micro tournament but a high buy in tournament

situation 1 :
You're in the BTN and everyone folds to you, you raise 3x bb and the SB folds, BB 3-bets to 8bb's. What now? Do you want to get the chips in first hand with kings? 4bet and the chips go in probably. Or call the 3bet?

situation 2 :
Lets say the chips go in, you doubled up and you didn't get any good hand before you got in the BTN again. You don't have enough information about your opponents yet, one person doubled up, he's in the bb now. You are in the BTN again. Same situation but you got AK suited. You standard raised and you get 3bet. What is your move?

I agree with Razshahan. I would try and get all-in pre with KK, but with AK, specially if not suited I would just call the re-raise and see a flop.

I know it would be hard to out a tourney with KK, but the chances to double up early are few and far between...........you have to take em. GL

Situation 1 :

It is the first hand of the tournament, kings are super strong so will 4bet here and will get it in if villain shoves. Don't mind if it is the first hand.

Situation 2 :

I will just call here and as i don't like 4 betting with AK this early in tournament as we would only be risking more chips which is unnecessary. Also if we 4bet and if villain 5bets big or shoves then we have to fold. So dats why i decide to play the pot in position post flop. Less risky that way and villain will no idea that we have AK. :icon_king
