If you’re the type of player who just calls raises, you’re going to get roped into hands and taken for a rid. Poker is about profiting from other people’s mistakes. So if someone raises you to get you out of a hand, don’t just call. Raise on top if you’re sitting with something solid. You could end up winning more. Or you could end up forcing your opponent out of the hand.

The first step you need to take when playing against an aggressive player is to define their likely hand range. If your opponent is considered a tight-aggressive, just how tight is his range? Is your opponent a ‘nit’? This is the type of player that always has a big hand because they play such a narrow range of hands.

It’s important that you know the difference between someone playing aggressively with value hands and someone playing aggressively with bluffing hands. There’s a big difference between someone who raises pre-flop from late position and continuation bets 100% of the time, but then gives up on the turn and someone who’s capable of triple barrelling as a bluff all the way down to the river with complete air.
As far as pre-flop action is concerned, poker players are 3-betting far more frequently these days. Yet there’s a big difference between someone who is capable of 3-betting light than with someone who will 4-bet light or even 5-bet light. You really need to observe the tendencies of your opponents and understand just how far they will go to take you off a hand.

I'm beginning to see the perks of being aggressive, I realized that it is a lot easier to reach deeper stacks on turbo tournaments being more aggressive and stealing the dead money oftenly

I agree , we should play aggressively , trying to take pots and accumulate as many chips as possible . I want to pick my spots and then bet or raise with a good hand or bluff a weak opponent or try bluf on turns when the board texture allows it in position . I have to learn more ofcourse .
Because if they see you as a caller/passive player they will be stealing from you all the time .

I completely agree that aggression is key to a winning poker players strategy. However, it's important that we realize that it's FOCUSED aggression with a plan. We shouldn't just triple barrel bluffs all boards because "it's hard for our opponent to call here with anything but the nuts" kind of mentality. Smart aggression is the best way to go, and knowing when to go for that triple barrel when a scare card hits the river instead of just mindlessly triple barreling without a plan is going to be the most profitable.

For example, there are certain player types that I would get in 100BB with JJ because they're just that stupid and crazy (i.e. LAG fish). And there are other player types (i.e. NITS) that I'll never go all in with preflop unless I have KK+...aggression is all player and situation dependent. This is an aspect of my game that I've gotten much better at over the past year and it's helped me become immensely more profitable!

Playing passively will rarely win you a decent amount of money from poker, so learn to play strong, aggressive poker.

Passive aggressive. I play passive aggressive, or maybe assertive.

Re-raising has it's perks and one should use them wisely. I find in poker that you can't always play your hands the same ways. There are times to be aggressive and there are times to be super aggressive.:)

This is my weak spot. . .
I believe that I need to be more aggressive.
I did not have the courage to put a lot.
I think that I do bad read the card rivals.

Aggression is a far more useful tool in multi table tournaments than in full ring games. I think patience is rewarded at real money tables, where position, hand reading , and knowledge of your opponent's style should lead to a bigger bankroll.

Play aggressively needed depending on the situation. If you have JJ, then the flop can and should play aggressively, but if the flop you hit (eg, A K 7), it is hardly worth mindlessly raises and 3-bets, especially if the player safely and without hesitation you called. Again, it all depends on the situation and the actions of another player

Play aggressive, but there must be balance and a lot of reasoning behind it.
