Hi everyone! I'm a relatively new poker player (in the sense that I've just started to play more in freeroll tourneys as opposed to the wsop App for fun) who started his poker journey last week. This weekend I played through a dozen or so freerolls on betonline (just the client I found with the most freerolls) and finished usually in the top 100-150 out of usually 1k unless I thought my pocket 10s were good and lost on the first few hands. I found this site yesterday while looking for some poker strategys and thought I should use the resources a bit more to help break through in some of these freerolls. So now to the questions (and boy are there a lot right now but I'l try to ask my top ones right now).

What site do you guys suggest for a new player that wants to stick with freerolls until he earns enough to try cash games?

Does anyone have any advice that can help me push my game up a notch or two immediately (I know I'm not a bad player but I also know there's probably some basic thing I'm overlooking that might be hurting me)?

What resources do you think, if any, I should invest in (or better yet free ones) that I can use to help learn and improve my game?

I appreciate the help if anyone can offer it and I look forward to talking with y'all on the forums!

Playing freerolls my not be the best place to learn poker. It really is a crap game and your going to see some crazy players. Depending on your location, inside USA, there are a few online cardrooms. I play at ACR as well as betonline. I only really play betonline for the CC freerolls. If you want to push your game up then you'll have to make a deposit and play some real opponents and not the donkeys. Read, read and read. Watch poker videos. A lot of players use HUD to help with their play. I personally don't.

Yeah I've been looking at ACR today. But yeah I have noticed that usually I can get through half of the other players in the freerolls without really doing anything so I'll look into the cash games a little more. Thanks for the advice!

If you are playing free rolls why not play every one that looks like a good value.

To improve your game: read poker books, join a training site, watch free poker videos on youtube(dont watch jabronies watch respected players in the game you want to learn), post hands in forums, etc.

Yeah I try to to that more in the beginning of the game when there's still the people that go all-in every hand but once I get to the last 100 or so players I don't think that strategy really works. I'm not so much worried about winning on the freerolls as I am about learning how to win if that makes any sense? As for the other advice I'll look into videos more but do you recommend any books particularly? And I was looking at starting the pokerschool through pokestars because I've seen good things about that but do you have any insight on that one or any others? I appreciate the feedback though!
