Hi guys,

Im just basically asking for a bit of advice on what you think I can do. Im just recently been trying to get into poker a bit more. I used to play a little, I orginally got given $2 by stars and turned it into $12 in about a two days. However I soon managed to lose alot got down to about $5 and didn't play for ages. I have been doing some learning, reading through the harrington books, playing on the play money tables etc to get basic play down again.

Im a student so can't really afford to deposit but im not that bothered right away because I want the basics down again. So I only have that $5 in stars. Is there any coaching places that stake you a roll for a % return. I figure this is my best shot atm. Have tried the freerolls but I really can't be bothered with them.

I don't really think im a good player yet but I have got better in just two weeks. It probably doesn't mean much but have been doing consistantly well in play money tourneys and going far in freerolls just haven't cashed, they take too long. I have only been playing these for practice because they play if I remember rightly is similar to 2NL. Obviously my $5 is terrible BRM.

There are the 2 cents and 10 cents SNGs on pokerstars and that is a decent bankroll to play them. The only problem is that 2c Sngs are superturbos full of fish where they do not care if they go all in with 72 or 63. To be able to survive you need good understanding of high blind play and speculate the positions. You only need to get those 10 cents one out of 5 times to be even.
At 10 cents there is a little cool down after a while and you can play some poker. You have almost 40 buy-ins for them and you should try those playing only premium hands at least near the money.

If you are able to grind to 10 dollars than you play at the next lvl and so on.
Probabely you will bust those 5 bucks but try to learn something from that.

If you are UK, UKStudentPoker do staking deals on betfred (on the ipoker skin). Places like part time poker and stake a shark do smaller stakes, check them out

if you are playing at Full Tilt, the Full Tilt Academy is very helpful. even if you arent on full tilt you can download it and join the academy but you wont have full access. For the SNGs go to pokersitandgoreport.com. In the search bar in the upper right type in "video" and there is a series of 14 videos which are immensly helpful
