Hey guys and gals.
I have to admit that I'm horrible at taking notes. The reason for this is that I haven't got a clue how to!

I wanna ask for help with this. What are the traits I should be looking for when noting (except for the obvious 90/90/100) for both cash and tournaments.
Anyone use a system of sorts?

Thank you.

Cheers

Take a look at John A book, polished poker there is really useful chapter on how to make good notes, harrington also have it at online 6 max cash but it is a bit more complex...

When i was playing on PKR i was tagging players with little icons, they had a little fish icon, little shark icon, and all sort of different icons which you can use to remind you on whatever you want... I mostly used fish icon to tag really bad players and look for them later...

About how i take notes first thing that i do is that i write down first suspicious act that someone to at the table, betting patterns, min donk bet, really smal turn bet river over bet etc. Also if someone opens from UTG with 2bb and later with 4bb make sure to write it down, this my friend is betting pattern, most useful online tell, if somehow you manage to see his hole cards at showdown write what cards he had, that doesn't mean that you should pay every street just to see his holdings, at micros there is always someone to do that instead of you, you just need to pay attention to what happens on the table even if you aren't involved in a hand...

As for the color labels i see some people mark fishes as blue and regs or tag with orange or brown (me personally mark tags and regs with red, means avoid :D), it is really the personal choice just dont mark reg and fish with the similar color so you wont mix them up when multitabling that could cost you money :D

I use my tracker to label all players I have over 50 hands on (or less if they are obv a fish) so I know who the nits, TAGs, LAGs and fish are as soon as I sit down.

I avoided taking notes for longer that I should have. I think it was because I wanted some sort of foolproof code that no one would be able to figure out. Then I just started using normal English to describe what I wanted to remember. Now I am catching up on all those notes I didn't take.

Don't overthink yourself. If there is something you want to remember about a player, remind yourself via the site notes. PT4 figures out some patterns and provides them in the PT4 notes function, and that is nice, but not always what I want to remember.

The easiest way is trying to using color system
so that whenever you see the color, you will realize it is that kind of player

basically, you may set your own standard ,as seeing the videos from pros, each person has his/her own color labeling system

you may copy some examples
like,

Calling station = Green
Maniac= Red
Nit = Blue
LAGs= Pink
TAGs= White
etc.
