IMO it's usually unethical to discuss in any way what your hand was or is while there are other players in the hand. The only time I think it is acceptable is when someone is all-in and you are the only player left to act. then you can openly discuss your hand, as there are no other opponents with chips left in the hand.

well morally... its incorrect, but i mean strategically its a shoot in the head!
lol so you gotta keep your priorities straight, do you just wanna mess
around, well keep it up, but if you want to have a serious game then i don't
recommend it... but if full tilt has a problem with it? I doubt it. The chat
is a place where people converse with others, if one chooses to say their
hands i do not see why not, soo keep it up please if im on the table heh

Yes, its against the rules if there are still actions to be made by players in the hand.

It is wrong and I am pretty sure if you keep it up you can get your account suspended for giving information that would change the play of the game. If it is after all action has been done, say there was an all-in and only one player called, then you can discuss whatever you want. But as long as there are other players left to act, it's a no-no.

In that case you were fine. The first comment was purely humorous, even though you were stating the truth about your own hand. And the second and third ones I have seen many times, a lot of people think that by saying that it will get people to fold.

You never specifically said anything real about your hand, so in this example you are good.

online its fine but live people can pick up seriously strong reads from what you look like when you are weak and strong. Online there is only a problem with telling your opponents what you think they have. A guy said he was putting me on a str8 draw so i snap called him all in with top pair knowing I had him beat with a 7 kicker. Sometimes people will trick you and its fairly easy to see what situation they are trying to create in the hand. Like taking the piss with aces and saying things like, "you got a set" and **** like that.

Most professional thing to do is never talk or show. Ever.

Sums it up pretty well... I'm curious as to the situation that this came up in. There isn't much information here, like: other people to act, heads up, after the hand is over, etc.
