Hi all,

I posted an introduction thread (in the introductions forum!), but I felt like I should make a post here to ask for advice on "what's next."

I have been playing poker for awhile now (live), but just recently started playing online for money. By recently, I mean about five days ago on Sportsbook.com. I deposited $50, got a free Hold'em Indicator license, and played. I quickly went up $13 to $63 by playing .05/.10nlhe rings.

After time (and trying out other, higher limits too quickly), I got down to $10. A few tournaments later (2nd place, 4th place, 3rd place) and some lost ring games (again at too high a blind for such a small bankroll), got down to about $3.

I realized that I had a lot to learn.

I started reading articles, joined this site and tightened my game up. I went to the .02/.04c nlhe tables and slowly worked my way up to about $7 (where I am now).

My research has led me to learn about software such as PokerOffice (as well as reviews of poker sites), so I will probably switch to pokerstars or full tilt poker if my BR at SB runs out and do hand analysis through my playing history with the help of software.

If anyone has any recomendation or "what's next" tips, please let me know. I understand that I'm a noob and I'm reading articles like crazy already, but a word of encouragement and some tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Hi darkshark,

Sounds like you are well on your way to becoming a winning player, you are taking the right steps to improve and develop your game.
I learnt in freerolls and with play chips, i still play Horse for play chips, i think playing Horse has improved my Hold-em.
Good luck.

like he said, you seem to be on your way...go to the bigger sites and see what happens, stay within your limits and comfort zone, and use whatever tools you can find
