. You have a monster, you know that the opponent is weak, and min-raise is the maximum you can get.

2. You have a very aggressive opponent who will probably think min-raise is a sign of weakness, and you actually have a strong hand. Then min-raise is a trap and you hope for a reciprocal re-raise.

3. You have the winning hand (the senior full house, four of a kind), and there are many loose callers someone's original bet. Then min-raise can be a good way to disperse the Bank and each of the callers will add to the Bank the required amount, not knowing that he has no chance to win.

Another one, which I use all the time and I cant believe how often it works.

Play very tight. Have a really wet flop with lots of draws and high cards. If your opponent knows you are right, wait out most of your clock, then min bet.

Many times I have gotten good players to fold to my complete miss by laying down this confusing little bet like im begging for action.
