Hi people:

Im a new player no more than a month playing cash, i spend about 2 moths playing for chips and now I started playing Free rolls,

in the past if i have on my pocket an A + any other CARD i played till the river and cost me a lot of tournaments, the outs and odds to make my hand stronger were to low, so i do strongly recommend you to play this cards only when you are in a late position and no one rise before you, if the flop was not good for your hand dropped.

only play that hand if no body rises, becarfull with the river many players with a low pair wait till the river to raise. if you don´t have a pair don´t try to beat them with your kicker most of the times you will lose.

Depends on your # of BBs

Hi,

I agree with you that you should not just play any A all the way to the river, but if it is A9 or better then it is normally worth seeing the flop. Additionally in a tournament, if you get below 10 BBs (and definitely if you are below 5BBs) I would encourage you to raise all-in preflop. Passively calling all the way to the river "hoping to improve" when the pot odds aren't there is definitely a mistake.

There are three ranges of cards that can combine with a single ace. High (K to 10), Medium (9 to 6) and Low (5 to 2). With High, play according to your standards. Fold the middle unless in the big blind. Play the Low if you can get into the pot cheaply, but fold if you don't improve after the flop. You need at least 2 low cards (different from your kicker and under 5) to let you think of continuing, The odds are about 11/1 to fill your inside straight. Paired your small kicker?. Mmmmmmmmmmmm

Ax isn't a particularly strong hand if you're willing to go to showdown, if you're getting good value pre-flop then it can be effective to find another A on the flop. Ax low range e.g A,5/4/3/2o can be effective to shove if you have less than 8BB's as many bigger stacks will call with air Q8, J9 etc. (light).
