I think the general rule of thumb is to have 100 buy ins in your bankroll to be comfortable to play.
$85 should be enough to turn into profit if you play your best, you have 85buy ins. HOWEVER, I feel like maybe you'd be more profitable maybe doing $1 turbo tourneys instead? More players but much bigger prize pool! However do what makes you happy!

TLDR: I think you'll be fine, but usually try keep it at 100buy ins on your bankroll

variance is much higher in turbo. for turbo 90m u need cca. 100-250 BI (depends on ROI)

To be honest I've never really played anything other then turbo. I feel quite comfortable with the pace of those tournaments, sooo i'm no good with SnG aha

It's not just a matter of having at least X buyins. There's a not so minor factor to consider called relative ability. If, for example, you're far worse than average in the fields you play against, and assuming your rate of improvement is average or worse, it's basically just a matter of how long until you lose your roll. Having say $200 instead of $85 just means it will take longer.

Imo, for Sngs you can calculate to have 50 BI's as bankroll for regular speed. Turbo have higher variance so you should have more for those.
So for the regulars you should have enough bankroll.

The variance in mtts/sngs is greater than in cash games. 100 buy ins is a good rule. 50 bi down swings happen quite frequently in mtts/sngs so you need to be prepared for that both mentally, and financially. Variance can be a bitch don't underestimate it!
