Hi, yesterday someone told me that 888 poker has really soft competition, so i did some research and find out that alot of poker players say the same.
I registered and got $2 starting money + 6 $1 SNG tickets. but the real problem is that if I am playing on the 9 player table i just can't make money with it. I am bleeding out with the blinds and sometime's i call the bb to see the flop with a ok hand and totaly miss it. What should you guys do on 888 Poker? play SNG's or cash game's. And does someone have any tips in winning it againt ''soft'' players.
Every tip will help me. I am really trying hard to make profit (even when it is$ 0,10 per hour) I just dont know why I am not building BR.

Nittish to begin with and often when your deep stacked turn TAGGISh and make them pay :)

I recently just switched from 888 to pokerstars and I also got told 888 was softer... But I have to argue since playing 888 for quite long, it's not softer just people a fishy in different ways.

888 they chase you til the cows come home.

pokerstars they fold too much or try shooting you down with air.

All exploitable easy enough.

As Aces2win indicated, it's not like there's a huge gap in overall ability level between micro players at different sites. And as a beginner yourself, you shouldn't expect to win right away not matter where you start.

Plus even if you choose a site that is somewhat softer, it's pretty much meaningless within the context of poker as a game you'll probably play for many years. Let's assume, for instance, that 888 is a bit softer than Stars. If you intend to move up, it won't be long before your opponents at 888 are, on average, at least the same level as you would have faced if you had started at Stars.

by my experience at 888 players are a bit more curious and want to pay to see flop or after for a bit wider range of hands

hey,
I can tell you from experience the small buy in tournaments are fantastic for bankroll building.
your looking at anything from 150-600 runners on average , pokerstars can be 6,000 or more.

your chance of final table is way higher,
the 20 seat sit n go $3.00 is soft as hell, you'l lose half the field and double up by just waiting for solid hands and playing in position sensibly sucking value from callers.

By the time the bad Aggro maniacs are gone players clam up alot of steal opportunitys.
Alot of players limp, not many understand strategy, it tends to be crazy aggressive donkish wide range,
and nitty players waiting to catch the bad players...

you wanna try and find the balance somewhere in beetween tight and aggressive, and feed off both, without becoming over active.

again with the tournaments large fields just play a solid range try to avoid calling spec from early position because of over raisers and multiway pots,
just keep it simple strong hands aggressive,
and isolating pots when theirs not to many callers and picking players off, Taking pots or getting payed off.

once you get really deep players will tighten up in the tournaments close to the big money, its kind of like a mass donk free for all and then last 40-30 players their dropping their pants for you if your stacking well ;)

and that really sounds wrong!
lol

It seems everyone wants to see the river on poker stars now. Sometimes that's a good thing but others, very frustrating.

i think they are a little softer , i took the 2 buck cash and tournament tickets and did ok , won a 9 man sng and bumped my cash up to nearly 20 bucks , i was playing for 12 hrs but i got there , its not that much softer though , if at all maybe i had an easy table , seemed to be a few fish calling with less than good hands, next day i tried a session and it was no different to stars ..soooooo who knows
