Hi kazzer, cardschat has an article in its strategy section that would contain some of the information you are looking for. I have put the link below for you to browse, if you still have questions or comments once you have reviewed it then feel free to respond back with those although the helpful tips section on third street looks to answer your question well.

^^ This!

I used to play cash, so my hand selection tends toward nitty side.

The best possible starting hands are: Set, Pairs, and drawing hand (flush and straight)
Set (Trips Or Three of a Kind): Best possible starting hand.
I raise, re-raise. I go crazy over them, but if I get resistance in further streets, I might slow down.

Big pairs: I would play them aggressively but not as aggressive as set. So, I'm not raising often, I want to see other street as cheaply as possible. I might raise it in late position though.

Small and medium pairs: Limp behind, and play more cautiously; unless you made a set or full-house.

Drawing Hand:
Flush and straight draw: I play them as I would play set.
Flush: I play them as I would play small or medium pairs.
Straight: I would not even bother playing if the pot is raised. Only limped pot is where I play them.
