Question about the best hand in this situation...

player 1: 10-A straight w/ 10, 7
player 2: 10-A straight w/ K, 4

who wins? is it a split pot because you use your best 5 cards?
or do go to the best kicker and player 2 wins?

Split pot as only 5 cards are used.

Which is the same for most every poker game as well. Hence why 33 & 23 is the worst hands you can have on a KKTT2 board when playing hold'em.

Jilly is correct. only 5 cards count. The second 'unasked' question is: then does suit rank matter? No. Suit rank is only used for the bring-in card. Two Royals would be a split pot (which is not possible in holdem or oma-haha).
