I am consigliere for a group of high flying players and casino owners who consider that 7 2 off suit has been getting a bad press and want it reassessed to JOINT worst hand. Consider if you will, is it any worse than 8 2 off or 9 2 off? For that matter is it any worse than any card with a two kicker? Take it to the next level of 8 3 off, is this hand any better? We would argue a definite NO. Go a step farther, how does 9 4 off play. We are raising a petition to present to the Poker Revision International Committee (PRIC) to have this despicable wrong righted. The petition will be issued shortly.

Jay Peasmold Gruntphuttock.

1.I see your point and yes 83o,93o... might seem like 72o or any other garbage but when it said that 72o is "the worst" you should consider that 0.01% that any hand PRF can make I'm not sure about the numbers but 72o is worst than 82o just for thous 0.01%.Most handsare won with a pair so having pair of 8s vs 7s is better obviously
2."any card" whell again A2o that catches that A on the flop i the top pair

Actually, it depends on the situation. Heads up, 32o (32.30%) fares worse against a random hand than 72o (34.58%). That's mostly because the hand will be won by a high-card or higher pair. You're not going to need a straight to win.

But, when the hand is multi-way, 32o does better because it has straight potential, and the odds that a pair of 7s or a high-card of 7 will be enough to take the pot down is insignificant. Both hands do much, much worse in these situations (around 10% equity 6-handed), but 72o is the worst of the two.

The other hands you list do suck, and they don't do a whole lot better than 72o (when 6 handed). But, they do a little better. It might be less than a percentage point, but it is still better.

I have to say I find it interesting that 32o has such a high % in heads up. Seems like it really is useful to raise every hand HU when you've already invested a small blind... Especially if people at lower limits are going to go ahead and fold some of their trash.

Depends.. 72 may be very profitable sometimes. If flopp supports your 72 then its very good hand.

our home game has a mini game that if you won the pot with seven deuces ( bluffing or whatsoever) everyone had to pay you x6 BB :D

It certainly is one of the crappiest starting hands it's not expected when you hit with it and you can win big

7 2 off are the 2 lowest cards with which you can't make a straight. Therefore it's the worst.

8 high beats 7 high, so 8 2 is a better hand.

I cant believe this is an actual conversation and that anybody would care if people say 72 is the worst hand, which it is at a full table preflop, math doesnt lie - ever. Even if its just a .01% difference, the difference still exists.

Poker Revision International Committee? Is this a real thing, cant find it anywhere online - post a link please.

Agreed with Detroit. We are (or should) fold all those hands. But 7 2 off is statistically the worst starting hand against any two random cards. Sure it is better against 6 2 or 5 2. And yes it may only be 0.01% worse but if you run that out on all the hands you may play in a lifetime, it adds up. (if you play it)

No, the worst hand in heads up is 23o as we can see 27 has it crushed. however at a full table with multiple opponents 23 plays better then 27 as it has the added str8 draws.
