it depends on your gamestyle. On 6max you have to play more hands, and be a bit more aggressive, and therefore theres more variance. In full ring you have to play less hands, since you post the bb 1 out of 9 hands, and therefore less variance. Try playing both and stick to the one that gives you better results
In my experience, I would suggest the 6-max table.. But then again, poker is a lot about subjectivity so who knows eh? Why not try both out and see how you feel?
As long as you don't play with high stakes, there's no harm done.
Agree with micromachine. At 6max tables, you need to learn to get value with marginal hands, which is not easily done from beginners. Otherwise the aggression, rake, and blinds will eat you alive.
Depends on your skill level and what you are comfortable with. For beginners its better to start with 9 handed table. 6max requires higher skill level and greater concentration than 9 handed. Also aggression is big factor in short handed play, so if thats your style play short handed game.
I've always found it easier to play at a 6 max table, due to the fact that I get to play more hands, don't seem to get drawn out on as much from playing incorrectly, and with only 6 players to focus on I get a better read on each players playing styles.
I'd have to say I enjoy 6 max better because you play more hands and I like to play slightly more aggressive, but if you're trying to learn it would probably be best to play 9 max because you post blinds less which will give you more time to either get a good hand or play the table correctly.
In cash game table i only play 6 player table just because i can better control the table and even make more money. At a nine table there´s so many player´s playing so many hands which can difficult a little bit your reads, more people to raise you, bluff you so you will be more tight on it. But, if you are a tight player 9 player table is the best thing for you.
The nine player tables on Bovada's version of Rush Poker dried up in a week. Since then they have had no action at all. I like to use a big hand strategy and set mining for this game and it won't work at 6 max, due to the early blinds and preflop raising.
I like playing 9 max mostly since I play live alot and the games are soft for me. 9-max is a good way to start out learning poker while in 6 max you need to be more aggressive and get value with more hands.
I also think 9 tables are better for beginners like me because there you dont need to play much hands and the opponents cant read you that well. Also a all in with high pocket pairs are often called.
