6 combinations each????? need help!

I have a example in a phil gordon book which he says 33-kk = 6 combinations each x 11 ranks.... I know where the 11 ranks come from but don't know where he got the 6 combinations each from. Any help would be great.

There are six combinations of any pocket pair 22-AA (not sure why he says just 33-KK but whatever). For Aces you've got:

AhAd
AhAs
AhAc
AdAs
AdAc
AsAc
