I manage to make a $6 dollars bankroll playing freerolls in full tilt, now i don't know which way to go to spend this and make a profit that can make a real bankroll, what do you sugest to do in this case, i want to know what is your experience (if any) in this situation. Should i play the micro cash tables, or stick to tournaments, in this case which tournaments should i play?

$6 is so small for 10 cent ring tables. I would win a couple more frerolls, move the money (15ish?) to stars and play 02nl.

I agree with cAPSLOCK, if you can't move the money out of FT, it will depend on where your skill lies. I don't do well in ring games yet, so I would play in the small sng's and try to build it. You could also try FT's small buy in tourney's. They are not much better than the freerolls though. It'll be tough either way....GL

Quite a few things to think about.

Micro limits on Fulltilt have quite a high rake compaired to other sites.

I would stay clear of the micro limit cash games on Fulltilt because of the high rake. I'm also assuming you mostly play freerolls (tournament style games, FR's, MTT, STT) seeing as that's how you got the $6. So if you do make this transition realize that ring games and tournaments both require a different skill set.

Tournament play is probably a better idea for your bankroll. There is a tournament a few times a week for $.10 + 0. Not too hard to cash in and similar to freeroll play (I think it might be a rebuy and/or add-on). They also have the $1 Ferguson, which might be worth a stab.

I would recommend reading Chris Ferguson's guide to bankroll management for some direction.

Other options would be to build a play money bankroll. On pokerstars you can actually sell play chips to certain people for a good chunk of change. This would give you more room to manuever and a nice start-up bankroll. On Fulltilt there is a 500,000 play money freeroll, which pays nicely and is relatively easy to cash in. Either ways can help cushion your roll.

darn I thought I could help but Im lost now...

I actually did go through this on full tilt...I won $7 on a freeroll...my first bankroll ever and I blew it on low stakes tourneys....more because I did not know how to play yet....I was always wondering if I should have played the micro cash games to build my BR up but oh well...

Guess the other posters prob. know what they are talking about...but that money u made is precious so use it wisely....

I actually have moved to Stars since and the rest is history...I still have the remainder 90 cents on full tilt after my freeroll winnings loss that I can not use to buy into any games...lol...

Point is I decided to deposit after that...I could not on FT..but could on PS....and then I came here to CC.....and have taken it from there....GL with your 7 bucks...hope u have already doubled it or more by now... :)

Well.. those warning you about the difference with ring vs tourney are right. If you are new to ring you need to tread lightly.

Moving your money might be a hassle. The best way to do it is to have a friend with bankrolls in both places help you out. I have heard that this should NOT BE SOLICITED in these forums publicly. There are broker out there, but they charge a fee.

You know.. it might sound sucky. But If you are a tourney player first... and you really DO want to build your bankroll i would see two options. Safe and Risky.

Safe: Play more freerolls until you have more dough in your account.

Risky: Play the lower cost Sit'n'Gos. You'll be raped in the fees, and wait... thats like 3 or 4 games... On second thought... even if you are a decent tourney player you are flipping a coin with your 6$ playing even the smallest tournaments.

Does FT have .10 tourneys? They suck so much on stars though.

well good luck however you do it. keep us posted!

My experience is that you can get a higher bankroll to play sit and go tournaments. Play very tight a try to double your stack with a few hands. You'll be in the money and get a higher bankroll. Good luck...

The ONLY way I ever of this being posable was through ewallet--but even then I don't think $6 is enough to do it with--So, really, it's NOT possable to move it from one to the other--I know 'cuz I wanted to do the same thing when we had our HU tourny a lil' while ago! We WE'RE able to transfer me the money I needed from one of my friends account at PS to me, and I transfered the money BACK to him at UB. But then, I got some pretty good friends here! Really a terrific bunch of folks here!

if you are wanting to play right away, do the $1 sng's. Play TAG, and really study your players at the table. Dont get involved in first hand donkfest even with the pocket rockets

What I did when I had like 3 or 4 bucks was go to a 5c/10c 6max table, play very tight and hope to make a buck or 2 profit. Then play the lowest stake sng's and try to build it. It's not easy and more likely than not you will fail, sorry to say, because sometimes it just isn't enough.

You could start with the tournys or sngs like others said without going to the cash tables first too but realise you don't have a lot of shots with $6.

And you can also sell Full Tilt playmoney chips, they are just worth less than PokerStars chips because Tilt has higher limit cash tables I imagine.
Like posted before: google sell playmoney chips, you'll find it and if you don't drop me a PM.

At FT I think your best bet are the 9 person SNGs for $1.25. Pays 3 so you have 33% to cash. I'd stay clear of the micro limits, those .10 tables are quickly all in for $10 the max buy in. If you do play them try being drunk;-) GL

Try to play some sit and go tournaments, 1,25$.:)
If you only play very good hands, and play as tight as possible you maybe reach top 3 without playing much hands.

But it's better you have a bigger bankroll so play more freerolls :)

I agree with enty. I personally am not that stable in the tourneys, in sng's I am usually just in the money which wins me a couple bucks then I rebuy and don't place so I lose it, vicious cycle for me. I personally do better in the ring and playing very tight when trying to build. If however you are skilled in the tourney play then the sng's would be the way to go for you.
Whatever you do I would not reccommend the 2nl cc donkfest, lol jk

If you are going to stay on tilt, I would recommend playing the 10 cent tournies but I wouldn't say that's your best option. Getting the money to stars and then playing the .02 cent nl tables gives you the best opportunity to build your bankroll in my opinion.

Please keep sending your opinions, i'm still trying to make my mind, so for now i decided to take the advice of likminutz and i'm playing play money ring games and sit and go in pokerstars. I hope to make enough to cash in, but it seems dificult to start, everybody is playing mad in play money games. Now i've got 4000 chips after a few ring cash games. I didn't have time to play any more freerolls yet but i now that is the safest way to go. Thank you all for showing interest and lkeep posting.

What I did when starting with playmoney games is I went to 5/10, the lowest limit, cash tables. Shoving any two and trying to double up until I had 4000 or more. Then I went to 100/200 and tried to find a table with only 1 person sitting. I would play them HU for as long as I could and try and take his stack.

Try to get to 20k or so and then you are ready to sit in at a 100/200 full table. After I had enough chips I could hit the 2k sngs and keep building going up the sng limits. Iat the time it was 25k 50k or 80k buy in but I understand there are some higher buy in sngs now.

It is not easy and play at 100/200 is still very loose and shove-a-ments but if you're lucky you can make it to 150k or 200k and then play the sng's.

Good luck.

Please, don't let that $6 burn a hole in your pocket. It will not 'spoil' sitting in the cashier window. There is no 'easy path' or everyone would be on it. With $6, you have 5 shots at $1 SnG's or 6 Fergy's. That's it, then -poof- it's gone.

Read the whole Ferguson page on BR management and his Challenge on FT. 'My' advice - use 'patience and discipline' - don't play cash anything 'yet'.

I would just try the sngos for 1.25$ 9 player and hope to win a couple. This is where ft needs to have cheaper micro buy-ins .... stars has 10 cent sngos multi which are alot better.

If you search the web you can find many no deposit offers that will be larger than $6, you will have to register with different sites than FT but there are lots of opportunities.
I am very impressed that you managed to win $6 on FT, i think the pay-outs in their fr. is not a large percentage of the field and there are many sites with regular fr. that pay a larger percentage. Poker4ever has a daily $200 fr. at 3pm and this pays the top 200 of 1600 max players, they also have 10+1c SNG.

The .10 SnG would be my suggestion too. Otherwise, you can let that money sit there and wait until you can play the Cardschat freerolls. If you place ITM in one of those, even at the bottom, you will have a much better chance at building it up. Good luck and keep us posted!

I'm too impressed with myself because i star playing poker just a few weeks ago, before i barely knew the rules of holdem by watching tv tournaments. Now i'm getting more interested in learning hot to play it well. I started on everest, win a little in the freerolls sit and go, and then switched to FT and make the second place in a freeroll. I'm playing Vc poker as well an there i won a second place also in the $50 freeroll.
