Hi--I'm very new to poker--been playing for about 1 month on 5 card draw which is all i want to learn well right now. Are there any good books out there you would recommend for this game specifically? I am interested in decision making with hands and bets and percentages winning with various hand combinations---

I also enjoy 5CD, but there are virtually no books about it afaik. Super System 2 has a chapter which relates to it. There is a book about draw and lowball by Mason Malmuth, but I think it may be difficult to obtain - I have never seen a copy.

That`s a very bold statement, my friend. Should we assume that you are crushing the 5CD games ?

Now that I think about it, there is at least one thread here at CC about 5CD. I should have remembered, because I wrote it myself, lol.

It was not meant to be any kind of guide to the game, but it does describe something of the decision-making processes.

First time if ever recamented super-system, but here goes.
SS has a section on 5CD written by Mike Caro.

Also if im not mistaken I think Philthy on here plays(or used to play) mostly 5CD so maybe he can recament a better 5CD book.

Going with what's been said above, Super System has an extensive five card draw section and Mike Caro (who contributed to it) is supposed to be one of the best five card draw players in the world.

That said I've never played the game for money and never bothered to read that section of the book so I can't vouch for how good it is but it can't be a bad place to start.

yes you should assume that. there isnt enough for a book but the super system books have a section on it.
