What do you mean? How exactly?
You're placing too much importance on position, and kinda doing things for the wrong reasons. Plus the LAG thing.
Lemme get a point or two in, then I'll answer the question in your opening post.
A wise man once asked me if I'd rather have position or the nuts. Obviously, you'd rather have the nuts! Additionally, as a poker player, your win rate is generally determined by the top 5-10% of hands. Aces make up a huge chunk of your total winnings. What you're hoping to do with the rest of the hands is to eek out a tiny profit, 0.01 bb/100 or something like that. All the top earning poker players online play tight preflop (except Tom Dwan). There's a reason for that.
I used to have this problem in a big way. I played VERY laggy (around 35/30), with a huge importance on position at 100NL. My most profitable position was UTG, because I was cutting out all the junk I played laggy with and just raising my top earning hands. Learn where your profit comes from before you go on a mission to expand your VPIP to super high levels.
But to answer your opening post, you will get more folds when you 3-bet in position, and you will get more calls when you 3-bet OOP. Your total 3-bet percentage (the number of hands you 3-bet) should typically be higher on the button. But the fraction of hands you 3-bet vs. call with should be highest in the blinds.
Sorry my response was so short last night, I was browsing the forums on my phone.
